disciplerocks's B2 build thread

I am wanting a 44/50 hybrid. But I am thinking 44 outers for now while I build a new front axle. Should be able to get the 44outers done pretty cheap if I can find spindles from a 96 FSB. They have the 5 bolt pattern so they should bolt to my knuckles.

We'll see.

When you do the 44/50 hybrid you gonna swap to a one ton rear at the same time? patterns would still match just wouldnt be as street friendly

There's a Sterling rear at the u-pull with 4:10s I got my eye on.

for some reasone i thought the spindle needed was an older one.

I still need to do more research, but from what I have gathered 96 was the only one with a 5 bolt pattern.

pretty sure all the ford 44's are 5 bolt pattern.?.? my 77 44 is, 79 knucks i have are, also have some spindles off an 80's and as well, stripped a 70's HD 44 for the flat top knuckles and yep it was the same. the difference is the diamater. Just outta curiosity i matched up a 35 spindle and 44 spindle the 44 is a larger bolt circle. For those wondering no i'm not refering to wheel bolt pattern. Ive also heard about the mythical year of bronco that has the same spindle bolt circle as the 35 I have not seen it myself. would definately love to see this done as a bolt on swap though. It opens a whole nother gateway for the 35. i was lookin at doing this initially (pre D30 swap) but was looking at just reaming out my parts.

beefy lockouts on a 35 yes please.

Interesting. I was under the impression all the other spindles had a 6 bolt pattern. I am going to have to do more searching and maybe swap arou d some parts at the u-pull tomorrow.

chev 10 bolts (same knuckle as a 44) and the waggy 44's are 6 bolt i know that. not sure on the dodge's tho.

i know in the tech section there is a refrence to the spindle needed i dont think it has a year listed tho.

If your wanting to upgrade the TTB why try a 44/50 hybrid when you could just swap and entire D50 in? I had a buddy swap a D50 setup and Eaton rear into his Fsb its not much morework than swapping the ttb44 into a rvb except extending the drivers side beam and bigger ujoints.

because the swap he is looking at is/should be 100% bolt on which means alot less downtime. as stated earlier cant do any major swaps until he replaces the enging in his focous

swaping beams could be a quick project but could easily turn into a serious project.

Yeah I suppose... I guess I didnt read far enough back. Not to mention you would have to do some fab work as the d50 beams need some massaging to get them in the bronco I bet they would need more for the rbv.

went out in the garage to snap a pic of a 35 spindle compared to the 44 spindle for further refrence. found out something cool. will post ALL details for you soon. need to finish up some paperwork for work and deliver it then i will post the pics and all the measurements

Not to mention the D50 beams are super short and wouldn't provide very much articulation.
