I've seen someone that had offroad lights mountd up by the windsheild.(Like jeeps have) I cannot find the member or picture of it. Can any one head me in the right direction.:D Thanks

I don remember who it was. I'll try to pull it up. I remember talking about it. I might even do mine like that. But with brackets mounted to the inner work and come thru the top of the fender between the fender and cowl. Maybe...

i believe it was Kolton on here that did that mount

As luck and cash flow would have it, I'm still working on getting internet hooked up to the appartment so I can upload pics... Sorry for the wait guys :/

I had cut two holes in the firewall just big enough for my hands to fit through while I cleansed out my cowl. Well, then I drilled two holes in the top of the cowl just big enough for the main bolt of my ProComs130's to fit into. Then I drilled another hole behind the light for the wiring to go down into. Then I made covers for the holes in the firewall so that I could access the cowl at another time. Ran the wiring through a hole in each cover. Siliconed the light and wire holes in the top of the cowl and called it done. The driver side light is in front of the windshield wiper pivot point, and the passenger light is mounted to match.

To be honest, it was very simple, but it has some kinks to be worked out... The lights keep giving me the impression that they are rocking back and forth on bumps. So maby a small 4x4" plate of 1/4" steel needs to be mounted between the cowl and the light to help relieve stress on the mounted area. And if you do a lot of close cut trails with heavy brush, I wouldn't suggest it very much if you care about body damage. they seem to be tree magnets when cutting through low branches and stuff. Yeah, its obvious that its gonna happen, but you tend to really notice it when you are driving through.

Any questions feel free to ask. The lighting that they produce is far greater quality than when I had them mounted on the stinger support bar.

can you mms the pics and me post them? i'll give you my cell number, or email them? how ever you are posting on here lol

i'm being told by a lot of jeepers to not put lights there. b/c of blindspot it creates and something about how it doesn't light up well in front of you. but then again you still have your headlights.

i'm thinking lights on a roof rack, bumper, and maybe cowl lights..
or if i was rich, i'd buy two HID's for the bumper and be done

i'm getting mixed reactions to the lights there.. idk, i might just have to try it for myself.

The cam on my phone is broke. BUT! I have an idea lol. Lemme see if I can borrow my buddies cam, transfer the pics to phone, then mms them. Just pm me your cell man. I'd be more than happy to get some pics out there.

And yes, blind spots are an issue. I had forgotten to mention that earlier. But there not horrible once You get used to them just be more cautious on the road. They did however, do a mighty fine job in hiding my over due registration sticker until I could afford to renew it :)
I have Spotlights mounted as mine. So I get a lot better visibility with them mounted higher.

If your looking for a lot of light, and easy install. I would honestly say go with roof mounted lights on a roof rack. Looks freakin awesome, and also gives you an easy mounting location for reverse lights as well. I would have gone that route cept my Bii is too tall as it is lol.

yeah, i bought the roof rack used. and its set up for 4 5" round ebay lights up front, slim line, and two autozone rectuangular fog lights for the rear. i love the set up, i just don't know if i trust that thin roof that much..

and the top lights are a fluted lenses, will that work?

Well, if you aren't trusting the roof. It only takes about 45mins to get the headliner out without any damage. Then go to Home Depot or Northern Tool and get some of those steel 2"by 4' steel strips. They make good support bars, easily bendable so they can form to the roof. Mount those to the roof, then mount your rack through those.

And your lights are gonna give you a real wide beam. I'd use those as your outer lights. Then have the ebay lights as your center two. I do that to mount racks on Jeep Cherokees and stuff for friends. Very sturdy, and super cheap.

I knew I'd need to find reenforce it. That is an awesome idea. I'll do that lol. All 4 of the roof rack lights are the same for the front. They will work.
