thats a b2 pump and a mustang pump....

been using the mustang pump in those carriers since the early 90s...pretty straight forward.
 
The cleanest way I have done on these is to replace the low pressure pump with one of these:

It's not a 100% bolt in pump and requires just a couple minor modifications to the sending unit but then you can delete all the unnecessary junk in the fuel system. I did that on my old '88, my '86, and a couple others.

I would assume the manufacturers are putting hose rated for submersion in their kits. But we all know what happens when we assume things.

For anyone else messing with this stuff, any hose installed in the tank needs to be rated for submersion in fuel. Translation, very expensive. Regular fuel hose usually has a inside liner of good fuel rated rubber, with a regular rubber jacket around it. Gets hard and cracks if it's in fuel very long.
 
What exactly did you cut off? What year pump? The pics are great but I need context.

excellent point


though the old standard efi line worked fine until e15 was the most common fuel. every old system i look at has cracks as well.
