Hell of a test lead!

It is awesome.

Works great on everything from under the hood to trailer lights.

I think mine is still in the camper from when we went to Kansas last fall and I really don't want to unload it and pop it up to just to get it out.

So yeah, running around Omaha it felt like it had kind of a rough idle. On hills right before it would downshift it felt like it had a miss.

I know changing the plugs had been discussed but I don't think they had been, so to start there I got a set coming. On fridays I get off at 11 so I broke my son out of daycare early and we got to work.

My help didn't last very long...

Changing spark plugs by feel is fun!

BOJAC

Plugs did not look horrible but tested terrible in the tester

BOJAC

I would say the plugs are pre my FIL acquiring the truck, I don't know if they are original or not but I would say it is plausible with only 77k on the truck. I have never seen plugs this clean externally... but I live in a dirt bowl. Wires are Motorcraft as well.

And yes I did go back with Motorcraft plugs, by dumb luck they are the same part number.

And the bottom of my left forearm seems to be full of fiberglass from the stupid heaterbox insulation.

I ran all over and bought the last air filter in town that fits a 1991 Ford Ranger... at Napa.

Drove it back an hour back to where we store it at her mom's place, didn't miss a beat the whole way.

Broke it out for our annual car show, this year we are actually honoring Ron too so it has to be there.

We have a couple good pics from that misadventure. I really like the one with Ron and Oliver working on it while the truck sits tall and proud with the rearranged front bumper.

I still can't believe he got as far as he did in 2wd lol.

I keep forgetting to post that I did eventually do a walk around video of this beast:

Weather is decent and I was feeling up for something different... so we sneaked ol BOJAK over to the 12th Annual Johnny Carson Birthplace Car Show in Corning.

Had a wide variety of trucks, ranged from a Model A to a 2024 Super Duty. Classes were wonky, it was up to 1980 and then 81 to present. I really don't get why they do this... but I digress. :dntknw:

The red/black one on our left had a 2v Mustang 4.6 swap. I have never seen a 2v 4.6 swap into anything before this year and now I have seen two and both were in rigs from the 50's. Solid platform that fits anywhere a bigblock will that runs like a new car, makes okish power and happy V8 sounds with Coyotes keeping the pricing down... kind of neat to see something different.

Cool old Firebird, I felt bad. Super nice kid had it and was really proud of it, I could see a lot of rot in the dash under the windshield. :bawling:

Neat retro build on a old Nova. Kinda has an early 90's feel to it.

BOJAC

They brought the flags in at noon on a old CJ2 painted up like an Army Jeep which was neat.

BOJAC

They had a toy store, Oliver snagged a new Formula race car... so I flipped down his tailgate and pulled out his chair so he had a workstation to build it. All the little pockets of the tailgate worked well for holding pieces.

A kid saw us pull in and said heck with it and went home and got his Ranger that was the same color. His mom owns the Napa that sponsored the car show. Talked to him quite awhile, his little brother was a little younger than my little guy so they ran around with each other. It is funny it seems like wherever we go he finds a kid about his age to run around with lol.

Sounds like something an evil car would say...

First year Ford offered factory 4wd. Super nice truck aside from the gut wrenching modern wheels. She needed boring steelies so bad...

BOJAC

I thought it was interesting how the steering collum was right between the clutch and brake pedals.

And someone gave Lily a cookie... which she approved of.

BOJAC

Didn't win anything, it was a really nice day and it was fun to have something at a car show that didn't have a rust for a change.

Looks like a good show. There are a few things there that I like. The red and white Ford might be my favorite. The graphics on the side of the Nova turn me away. They look out of place to me.

If it was my car I wouldn't do it... but I thought it was kind of a neat throwback and something different.

He was committed to the cause, it was actual paint and not decals.
