Any Hot Wheels collectors?

So, I've been "collecting" die cast cars my whole life. At least I thought I was. I would randomly buy the cool Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars/sets, that I liked. Some got opened, some are still in the package. I knew about "Red Lines" and "Premiums", but what I did NOT know about were the "Treasure Hunts" and Super Treasure Hunts". No sooner than when I learned about these, I also learned that they get scalped. Grown ass men getting up before the roosters, to go to the Toy aisle and nab the good stuff before anybody else, and leave NOTHING for the next guy, only to post them on E-Bay for 10X store price.

It doesn't really affect me, and my "collection", but I just can't help thinking how messed up it is to scalp $1 toy for $10-$15. This method keeps the kids from "finding" one and guarantees that parents will have to shell out extra $$ if they want their kids to experience a "Treasure Hunt".

BUT for all I know, it could be just a bunch of adults caught up in this frenzy, because, I don't think they had "TH" and "STH" cars when I was a kid. It seems this trend has only been since the "00's" era.

I have quite a few. From my childhood and both of my sons. I would buy 2, one for them and one for me. I have a 20 gallon tote full of unopened and my old cases and a few boxes of loose hotwheels

Somewhere there should be the ones from when I was a kid. A few have ended up with my HO scale model railroad stuff because they were pretty close to scale so I actually bought some specifically for that all

The 720 has a new cast this year. It's pretty popular. Drift truck iirc
the Mazda pick up is popular too

Back in the late 90s my dad was collecting them. He has tons. Even built displays holders to hold them in the package. He has a few THs. He would order a case from ToysRus and give the noncollectable ones to local toy drives at Christmas time.

13 = the 13th week of 2016.

Copyright year is just the year they ( Hot Wheels ) acquired the copyright to produce a cast of a certain car.
