Heya folks, back with more noises that may or may not be worrisome.
It's making a high tone echo-y rattle from passengers side, sort of in the middle of the wheel-well, it goes away mostly after a 30 minute drive @ highway speeds. I assume this would be the time to change that tensioner, I'm going to go with Melling and I'll see how it goes.
Just wondering if other people have had a similar noise & and it wasn't the tensioner.

It's not the whirring noise that drowns everything out, it's that sort of rhythmic thumping that echoes under the cab; not the exhaust as I had that done recently.

Sounds like an exhaust leak at a manifold somewhere. Once it gets hot and expands, it's sealing back up.

That sounds like a starter running to me. Phone audio is weird...

Starter running, would you care to expand? I'm confused.

Here's a clearer video of noise, it still persists even after replacing the tensioner.

Sounded like the starter was still engaged. IE: starter running after the engine fired.

The second video is much clearer to me. I agree sounds like a minor exhaust leak.

Hmm, yes. After listening to it more it does sound more like an exhaust leak, the little rattle on startup is sometimes there. May look into starter wheel not retracting fully to see if that's the rattle..

Ok the second video sounds different. It's rhythmic but too slow to be an exhaust leak or anything internal. Unless a cat has a whole in it and at a certain pressure it releases? Maybe a bad spot on the serpatine belt that makes the noise on one specific pulley?

Don't think it's serpentine system in any way, noise is at the rear of engine for sure. Unless my ears are being tricked in some way. I've replaced idle pulley, ac clutch and pulley, and tensioner + belt itself.

I know exhaust down from headers suck, but anything from cat onwards is new.
