94 mazda b2300

I didn't do much of a write-up, but I do have a bunch of pictures in my thread on my hybrid M5OD.

If you can't find a saginaw pump you could attempt the electric power steering setup that I did. :icon_thumby:

Thanks for the Hybrid link!!

Hows the electric steering working out for you?:dunno:

I haven't had a chance to test it out much, with my truck still a work in progress.

However, based on my preliminary testing done in my garage and driveway, it works great. The electric motor appears to have plenty of power to turn my wheels left/right. :icon_thumby:

If it ends up failing or not working out, I'll let you know. I am planning on going for a test run in the hills by my house this weekend or next.

Here's a guy who did the same setup on a newer Ranger. Looks like photobucket won't show his pics though

Almost ready to do the 2.3/4.0 hybrid. 1 step closer to firing it up and driving it! Can't wait!

Success!!!! One 2.3/4.0 hybrid M5od!! Actually went really well, just took my time and it went together smoothly.

Transmission is nice and clean. Looks good man.

Harnesses all ran, waiting on the clutch and flywheel, so close to firing it up and driving it. Hopefully by next weekend.

Got my clutch and flywheel in. Also went to pick n pull this weekend, scored on a throttle cable and vacuum harness. There was a damn near New dash, hopefully it will be there this weekend so I can pick it up.

Got the clutch, flywheel, trans and driveshaft back in. Just a bunch of odds and ends and I should be able to fire it up today or tomorrow and take it for a short Cruz. Waiting on the cat, so I will be running a test pipe until then.:headbang:

Might be a dumb question, but i didn't pull off the Y-pipe when I got the engine, is there exhaust gaskets between the manifolds and the Y-pipe?

Nope. The Y-pipe ends are flared and they fit over the end of the manifolds which have a matching radius. :icon_thumby:

Truck is looking good!

What gearing do you have in the rear end? 4.10's? If so your truck should feel rather speedy, but you may also want another gear on the highway, as you may be at like 2700rpm at 65mph like I am. :annoyed:

I have 4.56 and 31's, and first gear is almost useless around town. If I am already rolling I just use second.

Awesome!! Thanks for the info.

Right now i have 3.50 gears or something like that, can't remember. The rear end is out of a 01 B2300, Spider gears blew up on me awhile back going 25 mph.

There is a rear end with 3.73 LS at pick n pull that i might pick up this weekend. I'm going to start with those, and if i feel like it needs more gearing, then i will go with 4.10's.
