i just got done installing new slave and master cylinders in my 98 2.3 2wd ranger and i can not for the life of me get the old clutch line to connect with the new slave.
the old slave had a shiny blackish female connector, the old line has a black male connector.
the new slave has black female connector.
Ive tired opening the bleeder valve, i tired the old o ring, i tired brute force, it will not click.
ive done several clutch replacements on rangers and never ran into this problem. i would really appreciate some helpful advice

Mube up the fitting on the line with PB Blaster Carefully get it moving with a pair of slip joint pliers, Work it until it works easily, then hold the female housing back and push in the male. Good luck. In a way I was lucky, the steel part of the hose was rusty, so I bought a new one, which worked easily :D

I have no clue what i did different after work today but the hydraulic line snapped right into place like it was supposed too. i guess i just needed a few hours away from it. but thanks for the help andy d your advise was next on the list of things to try. gotta love owning rangers they keep you busy thats for sure. but once there running right they last FOREVER.
