1996 5.0 into 1998 ranger questions

Hey everyone! So I’m almost finished with my swap and I’m having a couple issues. The engine and trans are installed and everything is going well but I’m having issues with the wiring, I can’t find any info on how to use the 96s starter harness in my 98, and from another forum it talked about a ground wire that needed to be cut and grounded to firewall, it also talked about the alternator and I’m not sure what to do with that. Also vacuums lines, where do they go to. This is my first engine swap and I’m learning as I go. Thanks in advance. Pics are of my ranger pre swap.

You can't use the 98 wiring to start the engine? Yellow/lighrblue wire triggers the starter motor. But you need the underhood fuse box intact with the starter relay inside. Here's the diagram.
