1985 4 banger carb problems

I have a 1985 ranger with the 2.0.I just replaced to carb on it and i am having a problem with the throttle coming wide open when u crank it.I have tried patting the gas to see if it will unstick and it does not help.I am not real sure about the vaccum lines due to the fact that the carb was already off when i got there.I have tried several times to get it fixed but im at wits end and dont know where to go

check the linkage on the carborator to see if it is phyiscally sticking anywhere.
