Ozzy Osborne died

That is definitely going to be weird.

I don't not like his music, radio just KILLED Iron Man and Crazy Train for me, I could go the rest of my life without hearing those again... I'm starting to not hate them so much since I haven't listened to music radio as much over the last couple years though...
Get some albums man. I feel the same way about Crazy Train and Iron Man. When i listen to those albums I usually skip those tracks because I have heard them so many times over the years. But Paranoid & Blizzard of Ozz are rippers if you like that kind of heavy music.

RIP Ozzman.

The first Ozzie song to come up on my playlist last night was… “no more tears”…

I worked at a now defunct department store when I was in high school and had to listen to Christmas music starting at Thanksgiving. Just after Christmas it was dead so I asked the assistant manager if he'd play one of my albums instead of the usual elevator music. He was only a little older than me so he said sure. The next night we had Iron Man echoing off the walls. We only had about 2 customers and neither complained. Ozzy was an original.

Volume 4 was my favorite.

Oh I have other stuff, in the 5654 tracks on my Winamp playlist (almost 372 hours long apparently according to the bottom :)) apparently I only have 18 tracks between the ozzy/sabbath folders somehow... I could have sworn it was more... probably hiding in another folder

I didn't even know winamp was still around.

Mamma I'm coming home

Yep, it's still out there and works on current Windows, I was surprised but can't imagine using anything else... of course I don't go crazy with skins or anything like "back in the day" or going crazy with the balance settings and all that junk, it's randomizer is better than anything else... heck Jerry Seinfeld was just on now it's Tim McGraw, who knows next could be ICP or something random... :)

The 2nd guitar solo in Mr. Crowley is one of my all time favorites.. as well as just being one of my favorite ozzman tunes.

GWAR (my all time favorite band) has ALWAYS played the OG recording of War Pigs through the P.A speakers IN ITS ENTIRETY right before they take the stage.. goosebumps just thinking about it... no other band does that.. personally play an entire 8 minute banger written by someone else right before you go on to play.. for decades..

Megadeths cover of Paranoid is one of the best covers ever done, no doubt.

Ozzy & jacks world tour is.. surprisingly.. a halfway decent TV show. It's a "reality" show about Ozzy and his son traveling all over the globe doing random interesting shit.. like Driving a NASA moon Rover.. or visiting a 'corpse farm' in Texas where they study the decomposition of bodies left in the middle of the desert for years on end.. or Ozzy finally going back to the Alamo.. it's hilarious.

He didn't just create the singular genre of heavy metal either.. its thanks to him that we have as many genres of metal as we do letters in the alphabet.

There would be no death metal without Ozzy. There would be no speed metal without Ozzy. No black metal. No tech-death, no grindcore. No doom metal, industrial or thrash. No djent, hardcore, groove metal, or prog metal.

Thank the good Lord for Ozzy.. really..

It'd drive me batshit insane if I had to live in a world where bands only had the G.D Beatles or led Zeppelin to draw inspiration from 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 terrifying thought really.. yuck.

Ozzy was one of very few artists who could cut an album 40 years after their original big hits (over 50 years if you count his Black Sabbath days) that is still worth listening to more than just once.
I grew up listening to his first four albums (Blizzard thru Ultimate Sin). Any time I hear music from those albums brings back vivid memories (where I was living, who I was friends with/hangin' out with, etc.). No More Tears revives many memories for me also.

RIP :(

Yea Winamp 5.91 (I think it is) is what works on Win-10 & 11.
I originally tried to use the 5.62 I had long been using and couldn't get it to install properly (I was almost devastated  ). Upon searching the 'net for a solution is when I learned of the update. I think continued popularity with users is what prompted the developers to come back out and issue the update, but other than that, it's mostly legacy software (I noticed few to no new features that stood out anyway, even after 20 years).
I use the "Classic" skin. The others seem too bloated.

No doubt, Winamp has BY FAR the best playlist management features of any media player I've tried. VLC on the other hand sucks the biggest donkey dick, not only because of the playlist, but it can't even play two songs that segue together without hiccuping (doesn't matter what file format is in use), whereas Winamp plays them perfectly.

Hmm, I'm out of date then since I apparently downloaded it when I got this computer 10 years ago, it's on version 5.666...

5.666 I recall was the release that quit the paid-for model (making everything free)... I never used it since I already had a paid (Pro) version of 5.62.
If you got it to work, then I wouldn't even bother updating, it's pretty much exactly the same thing.

I know,. I just heard about him at lunch. Man, oh man

I'll always bleed red & yellow, brother.
