I'd be concerned about the 2.9's ability to properly power it. Hopefully it's a 2.9.......

That is before the 2.9. :thefinger: The 2.8's are actually better for me.

Also. Topic exists already.

What topic? 2.8 vs. 2.9? I wasn't going there. I didn't click on the thumbnail so I didn't catch what year the truck was. All I meant is that I hope it's a V6 rather than an 4 cyl.:icon_cheers:

I almost got one of those back around '05.

It was an '85 with a 2.8 and a C5, more specifically a DEAD C5.

Not that I even remotely cared because I was going to go 4.0/M5OD-R1
and probably put a Dana35 up front.

4x4 Not to offroad it, but to not get stuck getting in and out of parking spots

I've been giving this idea some thought.....

Cut off a conversion van body and graft it to a Ranger
with the rear of the cab cutoff.

But one wrinkle would be to use the front 2/3 of an Explorer frame.

An explorer frame is the same as a ranger frame until just behind the transmission crossmember. at this point an explorer frame flares out (like a woman's hips)
and this would make grafting the two frames together somewhat easier.

What, you wouldn't try to take that little gem to Roush Creek? Wouldn't want to throw some 44's under it?

Can't see why not.
