It looks like we have similar taste. I had an 89 STX also and really liked it. BTW, the 89 STX suspension was no longer called high rider, even thought it was basically the same. Ford called it Sport Rider and it was the last year for the factory lift. I agree it was very capable off-road but I think the 02 FX4 and later LII were a bit of an upgrade.

I also plan to get a Tremor eventually. I don't want a Crew Cab and hope Ford decides to also do a Super Cab in a Tremor. Otherwise, I may have to build my own. I am also hoping a small V6 Ecoboost engine is available by the time I am ready to buy one.

I like the Tremor graphics on the doors but I don't like what they did behind the rear wheels. It kind of looks too exaggerated.

Good luck on getting your new Tremor in a reasonable delivery time. I am sure you will enjoy it once you get it.

Eh, just get a Supercab FX4, add better shocks and struts, and it's pretty much the same thing.
Dude with an RTR conversion parked next to me at Carlisle last year and it was thoroughly badass. Honestly I'd take one of those over a Tremor.

I've seen a few of the 80's XTX Rangers, love the looks of them, never got to own one unfortunately.

I wish they offered the Tremor package in the extended cab Ranger with the 6 foot bed, don't care for the crew cab nonsense, I have an Explorer if I wanna haul people LOL. May just settle for Ranger with 4WD in the XL package and just add the locker and call it good enough LOL. For what I do I honestly don't need a lift, don't need offroad tires, the 4WD and locker would be plenty for anything I'll ever do. Gonna be a while before I can buy anything though HAHA. Gotta get some bills paid off first and wait till this inflation nonsense cools down too.

“Pretty much the same thing” says the guy who thinks it’s a 5th Gen Ranger.

For twice the money it should come with more than "pretty much the same"... minus upfitter switches.

The shocks and struts alone are about a 3k upgrade from the FX4 not to mention it already comes with the bigger 265 70 17 At tires which is about another 1500. Don't get me started about the damn uplifter switches that my dealer tells me about every month has no part number so I can't order. Just saying if the Tremor would have been out when I bought mine that's what I'd have. It's the look I went for in my truck. Then boom a few months later they popped that bad boy out. Oh plus you get the fancy seats that say Tremor on them haha

The Tremor rear springs are different and have more flex but gwp33 tows a race car trailer so he might be better off with the Old Man Emu suspension. I've seen Tremor rear springs for sale already from people who put a bigger lift on. Again, he wants a Supercab and I think it's unlikely that Ford builds a Supercab Tremor so you'd have to build your own. My ‘05 Sport Trac was essentially the FX4 Sport Trac that Ford never made. It’s possible.

Includes installation though. You can get everything on your own from RTR for a lot less. The guy I bought my Sport Package wheels from had got a lift and the RTR wheels, IMO they're the best looking wheels for a late-model.

Try these numbers:
HC3T-13D734-AD for the switches.
EU2Z-14S411-SA for the pigtail

From what I’ve seen, that’s just the switches (same switch pack as the Superduty) and doesn’t include the bezel.

I bet that bezel is going to be unobtainium for a hot minute.

Johnny, That is pretty much what I had in mind if I have to build one myself. I would prefer if Ford would build it then all would be covered under Ford warranty. I still have a couple years to go. I plan to keep my 02 FX4 to at least 300K miles. It is just under 280K miles now. It is running so good I will probably keep it even if I do get a new Ranger.

Pretty much everyone on the 2019+ boards and FB groups with an FX4 complains about the ride. Lotta folks get the Ford Performance or Fox suspension or Bilstein, or at the very least Bilstein rear shocks.
I don't off-road any more so there wasn't any point plus I needed to save a few bucks. I got caught a year earlier than I planned when a head gasket blew in my Sport Trac. I'd already put a lot of money into it the last two years and another $4k on a truck with 212,000 miles didn't seem like a good investment.
Towing capacity is 7500 lb and the factory tow package includes a 7-pin plug although you do have to add a brake controller. Ford has one that works with the factory stability controls.
If I mash the gas the back tires break loose at 35 mph when the turbo spools up and I average 20 mpg.

I've found the switches themselves. But it was for a F150. So I would have to cut the dash or something to mount them. I like how the Tremor has them sitting on top. I almost bought it and fabbed something up out of aluminum to hold it but it didn't look right all squared off with the curves of the round dash so back to the drawing board. So I'm SOL unless someone on here has a 3D printer and wants a new project haha
