I remember watching a youtube video a while ago, the guy put sea foam in the tank down the intake and in the oil it was a jeep though so the guy probaly wasn't in the right mind anyways. I'm just curious if the seafoam in the oil for the last 30-50 miles before an oil change is a advisable option? I've recently been getting a slight tick and am most certainly interested in getting rid of it. I was reading something about clogged oil passages being a possible cause for a tick in another thread so i thought cleaning it out with seafoam might work to clean my passages and rid of the trick. Let me know what your guys opinions on this is, thanks.

If you don't use too much it probably won't hurt any.

If you are really worried about dirty insides, start running diesel oil.

i've done it before, didnt really notice a difference afterwards. i've also heard of people putting ATF in there for 20 or 30 miles before an oil change.

It works...just follow the label directions for how much to add to the crankcase. Plain old ATF will do the same thing...used to do this with fleet trucks, day before the oil changes, we would crack the crankcase plug and catch about 2 quarts, then add that much ATF and put the truck in light service for the day. A lot of those trucks are still going and are over 10 years old.

My credo
Fix it till its broke!
It says right on the can, how to do it. Most guys put it in then change the oil in short order. I hear atf and diesel fuel do the same thing.

I add to fresh oil. When I swipe the dipstick I can see the seafoam absorb separately into the towel with loads of black gunk while the oil stays clean longer. Deduce from that what you will, but I do feel its beneficial.

I used the instructions on the bottle. My engine tap was quite for a day.
