Toe-May-Toe

Unless your English then Toe-Mah-Toe.

You know the people who can't say aluminum correctly.
They also can’t spell aluminum correctly... they spell it aluminium.

I'm sure glad I bought my rolly thingies already. I would still be on the phone with Rachel.

For tractors which have wheels that come apart it is:

Hub: thing on axle that holds the wheel. May be part of the wheel.
Center: the middle part. Can either be "pressed" (stamped steel) or cast (cast iron for extra weight)
"Rim" held on the center by wedge locks, several styles of mounting like bevel or spin out etc.
Rim is what holds the tire.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
Depends on where you live in the country. To-ma-to or to-mah-to / po-ta-to or po-tah-to, let's just call the whole thing off.

Do you call it a wheel and tire combo or a rim and tire combo...

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
The guys with saggy pants and fart mufflers on Civics call them rims. That's an additional reason to call them what they are, wheels. Model T's had steel rims and wooden spokes, bicycles have steel rims and metal spokes. Cragar SS wheels have steel rims with aluminum centers that are prone to breaking on an old tire machine like a Coates 10-10.

Great, now let's talk about toe-may-toe pasty stuff that has sugar and seasonings in it. You know, the stuff that goes on fries. What's that called?

:rolleyes::oops::sneaky:🤪🤓 I love semantics!

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Heinz ketchup. It’s the only tomato paste stuff you put on french fries. Everything else is a failed copy.

So?
The tire goes on the rim. The rim is on the barrel. The barrel goes onto the wheel. The wheel is on a hub. The hub goes on the studs. The studs are on bearings. The bearings are on a chase. And the chase is on the spindle.

That sure is a mouthful. I think I'll just keep saying "wheel" or "rim" as interchangeable words.

bicycles have steel rims and metal spokes.
Bicycles have aluminium or carbon fiber rims, steel/titanium or carbon fiber spokes*, brass or aluminium nipples, aluminum or carbon fiber hubs and steel or ceramic bearings and when they are assembled the composite is known by largest part aka rim. Then you add tire (and tube in some cases) to make a wheel.

*I have heard of aluminium spokes, but I am too ...robust... to want to try such creatures..

I would imagine that every single part which comes from Ford has its own distinctly name. Who knows? That might even be somebody's full time job.
