From the table in the tech library it looks like the gearing for a MD05 from a 4.0 is slightly taller in the 1st 3 gears than a MD05 from all other engines. So here is the question, how big a difference will that make if I install a MD05 from a 4.0 into my 1989 BII that has a 2.9?
Table:
Mazda M50D-R1 M 1988 & Up 4-Cylinder Rangers
1988-1992 2.9L 2WD Rangers
1991-2000 4.0L Ranger
1991 - Up 3.0L Ranger
5-Speed 3.40 / 2.05 / 1.31 / 1.00 / 0.79 (4.0L Engines)
3.72 / 2.20 / 1.50 / 1.00 / 0.79 (All Other Engines)
Also is there any way to check a MD05 input bearing when it is out of the truck??
Thanks...
