So after all that is said and done, they creditted me for all the work ($322.31) so I guess I can get a LOT of free oil changes....
That's pretty decent. Maybe they couldn't solve it but at least they value you as a customer.

I didn't know anything about flex fuel or alcohol sensors so I had to do a little Googling. I found this to be a good read: http://www.megamanual.com/flexfuel.htm It seems that some alcohol sensors have a microprocessor and can do their own diagnostics but contamination can skew the results. If the alcohol sensors cost several hundred bucks I don't blame a shop for wanting to bail out. Their kinda damned either way.

WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
Well, so far after about probably 20 miles and about an hour of driving its back on but i notice no difference really. If it weren't for the fact gas is nearly a buck more than ethanol a gallon around here, i might consider running gas next tank to see how long (if at all) the CEL comes back on... It's just strange it'd be doing this suddenly after an uneventful 2 years.

Well here's an update. Have since run two tanks of 89 octane (seems to run better on 89 than 87.... always has) and the CEL never came back. Rough starts a few times after the switch back to gas, but on my second tank of E85 again and no issues. Not sure what the hell was going on but it seems to have fixed itself...:dunno:.

As for why I switched back to E85, after tracking mileage, the difference in mileage wasn't as significant as the difference in price. Besides, why blow $280 bucks on a K&N kit that allegedly gives you 4 HP when I can just burn E85 and know I'm picking up 9HP? It's like financing a performance upgrade:icon_twisted:
