Picked me up a bone stock high mileage '07 XL Ranger Friday. It'll be my new Daily Driver. Plans are a drop, audio, more comfortable interior, and giving the tired 3.slow an early retirement,

So far I really like the little truck other than the lack of power, but for 186kmiles and 21mpg i won't complain too much. Already had to replace the actuator doo-hickey for the heater blower door. I had max ac but all other heater controls were HOT. Also did the first actual mod, window tint :icon_thumby:

When I got the actuator from the JY I also snagged a explorer full length console minus the lid, mustang dome light, and an explorer overhead console.

I'll update the thread as much as possible but most progress will occur only on weekends.

Waiting for a new home:

After tint:

Nice. Chris, what happened to the 94 build? I remember when you and I were dead even on timeframe for the V8 swap. I kind of left you in the weeds since then...lol

Ill update the build for that soon. Long story short it's about back together but closer to stock than I originally intended. I'm just happy I'm playing with rbvs again. You left me in the weeds for sure! Ill try and do better this time around

Well, had a 4hr drive to work this morning with crappy fm radio and couldnt plug my iPhone up for my music fix. So took the plunge and started ordering some audio goodies. Ordered a pioneer app radio2, dash install and hookups for my phone, 400w class D kicker amp, Polk mm12dvc subwoofer, stinger wire, and went ahead and ordered carpet and weathertech floor mats to replace the vinyl since ill be pulling it up anyways. Going to build a downfiring box that serves as a "false floor" for the back of the cab and still fully allows me to use my cubbys.

About the only thing left ill need for the interior other than components and tweeters down the road are bucket seats. I'm putting these seats in my 94 and thinking of putting a pair of '96 mustang buckets I have in here. Only bad thing is they're filthy cloth seats and Craigslist isn't turning up any leather seats in decent shape for less than $5-600. Anyone know a place for decently priced leather replacement covers? Best I've found so far is $575 and I think I can do better than that..

Got some parts in and got some work done! New radio is in, amp wiring ran, new carpet trimmed and in, new floor mats in, vent visors on, center console getting mocked up, and installing mustang buckets tomorrow!

Little more progress. Got the sn95 seats in. Don't like them at all, they feel too "squishy" and to refoam an cover them in leather costs more than I can justify on stock seats. So ordered a set of bride seats that'll be here by this weekend! Had a new windshield put in thanks to dumptrucks on the interstate. Ordered a djm 4/5 kit and notch. Sorting shocks out still. Installed a exploder rear with 4.10s and LSD yesterday and had to pull it back out today due to what seems to be a bad pinion bearing

I'll be looking forward to pictures of the new seats as I have no idea what "bride" seats are lol.

Bride seats are something I discovered while playing with jap tuner cars lol. They're essentially racing seats covered in "bride" material. It's real grippy material, it's called the "super holding material", or something along those lines. I think they're comfortable and look sweet haha

Oh and a teaser...

Coming from a guy with a lowered, white Ranger with a 3.0 and charcoal FR500's, the truck looks great! I'm jealous of you extended cab guys and how easy it is to make seats work. As soon as my engine swap is running reliably, I'll be getting some decent racing seats.

Thanks man! Your truck sold me on the anthracite colored fr500s. Seat changes are for sure easier in these extended cabs. Really happy with how mine turned out
