My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
I saw on the news this morning a list of some of the pork in the newest "relief" bill, among other things "undocumented immigrants" would be eligible for relief checks. Last time the democrats packed in $25,000,000 for the Kennedy Center and grants-not loans-of $75,000,000 each for two other unrelated programs. I wish they'd stick to the problem at hand and deal with the other crap later. One of my son's friends is a restaurant line cook, he's getting more money from unemployment than he was earning because of the extra $600 from the last program. I hope when this is done congress finds a way to pay down the debt and I have some suggestions: stop all foreign aid, we can't afford it; Temporary pay cuts for members of congress, Trump already gives his salary back; a TEMPORARY surcharge added to everyone's taxes with an expiration date so they don't keep spending it after the corona virus expense is covered; A drastic reduction in the allowable tax deductions: no travel at tax payer expense, they want to vote remotely- they can correspond with whoever remotely, too; no more wild goose chase investigations- ever. This is(supposed to be) a country of laws, we should investigate crimes, not individuals and the investigation should be done by professionals like the FBI and not by a bunch of grandstanding congress members whose primary goal is getting their face on TV.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Thing is unemployment doesn't last forever.

This was one of the few winters where I never got sick at all.
Don't worry. Winter might be over. But there's still time to get sick.

Swung thru Mcdonands to get a pop while I was in town, never seen this before:

Had another cruise night, in honor of the seniors that graduate tomorrow. They were all parked around the square.

They had fireworks afterwards, it was a pretty fun night with "organic fireworks" right afterwards... aka a thunderstorm.

Iowa has awesome license plates...

The McDonald's thing is odd because if you think about it, the ingredients for those few items they still have listed are the same for everything on the full menu. They make 40 sandwiches out of the same crap.

I think mainly the chicken stuff is gone. Apparently nuggets are not chicken...

The regular plate looks stupid, the black and white ones are a extra cost specialty plate. When mine come due I will probably go to the black and white on my Ranger. New ones are green, blue and white.

McDonald's likely has a smaller crew since their not doing as much business. A limited menu probably keeps the costs down so they can stay open without losing money. I know at the ones near me you can't get sliced tomatoes on a burger.

Yup. They eliminated loss items from their menu. Had a Co worker that was former McDonald's manager. Their financial model is cool. Some menu items sold at profit, some sold at loss. Balances out by menu strategy.

So, when shit gets rough, operate at a minimum, sell only profit menu.

The tomato slicer guy obviously isn't essential.

I think part of the problem is gaps in their supply chain. Pretty much everything they sell is processed beyond belief and the processing plants are experiencing some difficulty.

I did roll through town yesterday to see if people are opening up despite the stay at home orders. They are... a bunch of "non essential" places are now open.

I did see that 2 restaurants and one bar/restaurant now has for lease signs hanging on the buildings.

that brings up an interesting point:

since virtually all life does it in one way or another,,,,,,,

the real purpose of life is to chew up food and turn it into crap.
