WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
I'm thinking of getting replacement wheels since my alloys are pretty corroded, but one of my concerns is that since my 1999 has vacuum hubs, there's an opening with a screen on the end of my front hubs. The OEM centercaps cover them pretty well, but im not sure what would happen if I ran steel rims with wheelcovers or no covers at all as far as debris or mud clogging that screen.

(Not my vehicle, but shows what I'm referring to: )

if ur goin for new rims, the deff come with new center caps

why would u go with steel rims and wheel covers? id rather clean/paint your corroed rims before going that way.

just my opinion.

Well, I need something to roll on while I get them cleaned. And I wouldnt necessarily go with steel wheels with covers, but I may go steel wheels like whats on a Jeep. I imagine I could still use the ford covers on a steel wheel, otherwise there are chrome steelies that come on Rangers and I could use those covers. In any case, I was just wondering how leaving those hubs exposed might affect it. I'll get around to posting a pic of what my rims look like.

Here are my rims:

Driver's Side

Passenger Side:

It's under that clearcoat/platic stuff so I think I'd need to remove all of that to fix it. Not to mention it would probably look a lot better. The reason I asked about steelies specifically is I have a set of 4 rims from a 2002 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I only have 3 of the original center caps (in rough shape) from the steelies and I have seen one or two Rangers with what I thought were Vic rims but I don't recall whether they had the Vic centercaps or the Ranger center caps.

thats the clear coat flaking, and if u go with the crown vic steelies, the ranger centercaps will fit.
as long the rim has a flat surface on the center-where the nuts are held- the ranger centercaps will work
