Bronco II seats

As I have posted before, I am trying to resurrect my '86 B II. I really didn't realize what all had happened to it since it was parked, the interior has deteriorated to the point the plastic is all that is really any good anymore. So I found an 89 that was pretty complete with gray interior and no front seats. My wife and I gutted the 89 and have it installed in our 86, this morning I went to the wrecking yard looking for seats that would fit on the rails. During the browsing process I came across a 91 Explorer Sport with gray interior and both front seats, so I pulled them and paid $35 for the pair, (they are in good condition, no tears or worn spots, some sun fading). Any way, I got them home and set them in the Bronco to see how they would look, can you imagine my surprise when all the bolt holes lined up and all I had to do was bolt them down?
I don't know what years this works for, but if you need seats for your B II, try to find an Explorer Sport and see if they fit the way mine did. Oh, I should say to that both seats now move forward a lot further than they used to.

I put seats out of A 92 in mine took some modifying to bolt them down but the one hand seat belt " buckles mounted on seat " was my favorite part.

I put exploer seats in my b2 and used the b2 seat rails bolted right to the rails don,t remember what year the explorer was . i also swaped the pas. side out side hidge so my pass. side seat slides forward.

I have explorer ed bauer leather buckets in my 88 and I believe they also bolted right to my b2 seat rails and a explorer center console which is the best upgrade from my original split bench, the seats were power with lumbar supports back and legs but never hooked the electic up so just move em manually!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get seats up to 2001 explorers in a b2 by swapping seats onto existing bii tracks, I have been measuring for my 93 explorer, I guess I would have to compare the bii to the explorer to make sure, but that sure would be nice even though i like the seating position of the original bii seats, the explorer seats seem to sit me up higher than the bronco seats do

I just installed seats from a 98 explorer in my 88 Bronco II, on the passenger side all I had to do was bolt on the rails from the old seats. For the driver’s side, I wanted to retain the power seat option, but if all you want are good seats you could unbolt the power part and bolt up your old rails to the seat. I found that the rear bolt holes lined up no problem; I did have to cut off the front of the old rails and weld them to the explorer rails to get the seats to bolt in.

I am running leather Eddie seats from a 98 X, and the floor console from a 94 in my 84 BII. I used the BII brackets, but kept the lumbar.All of the "tan/saddle" is close enough to matching the original Saddle color that you really don't notice the slight mismatch. I am taking my spare set of rear seats to be covered in the leather from the Xs' back seats, so all of the seats match.

This is hardly new... or profound...

One of the oldest "How To" documents floating around the wed on Ranger and bronco2's
was the "Seat list" I wrote back in the early 90's

What seats will fit a Ranger or Bronco2.

The worst you have to do to mounts seats from an Escort(up to '91),
Mustang(up to '93) Thunderbird (up to '88) in a Ranger/Bronco2 is thread an already drilled hole in the seat frame to mount your tracks onto the seat.

Now I'll tell you you screwed up... go back to the junkyard and get the drivers side seat track assembly.

the '87-90 Bronco2 has a "double slider" seat track for rear seat entry
on the passenger side only.

The explorer sports have them on BOTH sides, (makes stuff in the back
seat accessable without walking around the damned truck)
and interestingly enough the Explorer sport tracks for 1991 & 1992
will bolt directly to your floor.

For that matter the '91-92 tracks will also bolt into an early supercab.
(late 1990 supercags already have this feature)

On most of the drivers side double-slider seat tracks there's a steel
cable that limits travel of the seat track, cut or remove it and the only
thing that will limit forward travel of the drivers seat is when the back
rest runs into the steering wheel.

back from the dead. I can't seem to find this cable. I have b3000 60/40 (think it's called) and my drivers seat doesn't fold all the way up. I know I'm in thewrong section but it's the only thread I could find that mentions it.
