have a 2006 Ranger STX with the 3.0 Vulcan 6 banger in it and have a issue that is boggling me to death...
Fuel pump assembly changed,
Fuel pump sock changed,
Fuel filter changed,
All hoses and related connections checked no leaks,
No fuel smell nor leaks found,
Fuel pump relay changed,
Synchronizer changed and adjusted, (possible misalignment?)
New spark plugs installed and pre-gapped,
New plug wires installed,
New crank shaft sensor installed,
New MAP/IAT sensor installed,
New IAC valve installed,
New TPS installed,
New air filter installed (not related)
Tranny fluid changed, (not related)
Oil changed (not related)
PCV valve changed about 2 years ago (replaced with non heated version)
It isn't throwing any codes HOWEVER, about 3 years ago i had a cylinder 4 misfire multiple times, did some googling and found the valve recession problem so both heads were replaced, (after the coil pack, wires, plugs and injector were changed) along with a new timing set, water pump and oil pump along with all top end and front end gaskets and seals.
I have read numerous forums on this issue and tried all kinds of hoopla to no avail...
Problem is it will start right off not even 1 rev when its stone cold, however, drive it till you reach NOT, then shut it off and go in a store for about 30 minutes then it will crank about 4-5 revs till it stutters then slowly catches and gets to the normal rpm in about 5 seconds.
If you turn it off and within 5-10 minutes start it again it will start normal however...
Has great power, never backfires, misfires nor stutters when driving. No other issues whatsoever.
Don't think it matters but its a standard.
Checked PSI at Schroeder valve, Its normal at all points, usually from 60-70 PSI.
Thing that gets me if it sits overnight after a days work it will pop right off, so its not a pressure problem nor a leak.
Does the Vulcan 3.0 have 2 separate Temp sensors? One for gauge one for ECM?
Gonna get a pic in the daytime, you'll love the paint job!
Yes it's paint, no it's not vynal nor a wrap.
I KNOW ITS GOING TO BE SIMPLE AS HELL BUT I'M LOOSING MY DAMN MIND HERE
