i think the 16g would be ok there on a dohc 2.0? those oem turbos flow enoiugh for 300+ hp. i say run a turbo calculatro and if its good go with it.

i believe it will work but the flange is sideways if your building a up pipe then its no big deal. Remember you can always upgrade a t3 with a t4 compressor. i would think that with the high compression that you aren't going to want much boost right away as this is the recipe for bent rods.

I've still got mine too. Tempting to try to rig it up on the 77 GS750 in my garage. Might as well do something with it.

The evoIII 16g is a modified big 16g with a slightly larger compressor wheel and a lighter and larger turbine housing than the typical td05h series turbos. It is capable of up to 400hp on a 2.0, with a flow rating of around 580cfm. While this would work, It would probably cause alittle bit of restriction at topend. I would personally look into a t3 or t3/t4 style turbo for less topend restriction and more flow at the same given boost pressure.

thats what im looking for, In a truck i want my power down low.
im going with the 16g i believe...freshly rebuilt, and free.

Im already straying from the norm turboing the 3.0, i might as well stray from the turbo rbv guys and do it without a t3 haha.

So i havnt posted in my thread here for a while so i figured i would let you guys know the bad news.

I was going to the parts store to pick up my up pipe section and merge sections going into the exhaust flange and on the way back my trusty 3.0 developed quite the horrific knock while i was driving it.
Soooooooo the 3.0 has no oil pressure and is now junk.
i have a 4.0 lined up sooo i guess its turbo 4.0 time haha.

or turbo 5.0 time:icon_welder:

morana 3.3 kit is good for 20psi, at 15psi its rated 300 hp, 325 roughly at full 20psi. im looking to do this kit myself, just need to get the money and resources together. www.moranav6racing.com look it up. ive emailed them a good bit, custom piston sizes are avail (oversizes) and dif compression ratios. im going w/ 9:1 for boosting but higher can be ordered. stock n/a engine at 11:1 is rated at 245 hp. hope this helps.

yeah it does help thanks, however the prices are just too high for me right now considering im pricing out a forged 396 for my firebird.

How ever to keep costs down i am considering rebuilding with oe parts, with arp headstuds, morana valve train, and a custom turbo cam, and then i will get bad to work on my turbo setup.

so the question is
rebuild the 3.slow, turbo it like i was planning and have already started, or put in a 5.0?

I vote find a good used wrecking yard 3.0 and turbo it.
