So I started with a 1996 2wd 2.3l 5spd ranger. Clean, my sister bought it with 10k miles on it and we've had it ever since. She put a 6" lift on it and I drove it for a while then wanted to wheel it.
So I got a tj dana 30
8.8 out of a 94 4x4 ranger welded it to a spool
Trans from 89 2.3 ranger 4x4
1350 and 1354
Then the fun started.
Built a y link with 1.5 and 1.75 .25 wall DOM and 7/8 and 3/4 heims.
Built a tie rod, trac bar, drag link with 1.5 .25 DOM
XJ 6.5" Coils
Stock rear springs with blocks and shackles
Built the doubler with the instructions on here. Had a buddy that worked at livernois make the intermediate shaft.
Put that in with a custom crossmember. Wheeled it at dog party with some 35's I came across.
Then I got some 36" tsl's and went wheeling at a local spot. Blew a tire off the bead and ripped my brake line off.
Rear rubbed a lot so I swapped in some 64's. Building a belly skid and rock sliders/boatsides this weekend. More pics to come.
