Dunno what to tell you. I just calibrated my SWR and it's between 2-3 on Chan 40 but it's over 3 on 1 and 20. LOL

well since you have a fiberglass , time to break out the side cutters and start trimming

eh , i have had a few cobra's , but never any good luck , my 25LTDNW burned out on me , then my 29LTD Dale Jr. edition burned out on me , then my 29LTDNWST burned out on me , the only radios i have had luck with are Uniden's , and we used to have a sick Galaxy Saturn Turbo at the old house . So my choice would either be Uniden or Galaxy , but i have heard good things about Ranger. If I could keep a Cobra in my truck for more than 6 months i would go with one , I kinda lean towards the 29 LTD NW ST , i have no need for the fancy bluetooth , and don't feel like droppin the money for the "Chrome" edition.

The fancy bluetooth is nice man. I tested it out, sound quality is crazy.

i have to find a different ground , i am picking up feedback from the power windows

those galaxy's are nice. the ranger i like because its called ranger but its too flashy i don't know why you need a built in mp3 player with a usb port.:icon_confused:

Nice one, glad to see a build thread! I meant to ask you if you were on TRS! Although I guess it shoulda clicked with the big TRS windshield stickers! ;)

I hate to suggest this, but I think the reason you're picking up so much noise in the radio might be because its wired into the trucks electrical system. There's a reason I'm currently going to so much trouble to wire my radio. If you run wires directly to the battery, its supposed to reduce the interference.

The other thing you can try is running a ground strap from your alternator to the engine block, engine to frame, body to frame... Or at least checking those grounding straps that already exist. I've heard that can be good to reduce noise. And its a lot easier than running wires, as you've seen by my Facebook pictures!!

got my radio from militarydave , slightly used , but alot better to pay $65 inc. shipping for slightly used instead of 119.99 + 8% Sales tax for a new one
