The morale boost and the Cold War "space race" with Russia are the reasons I feel they faked it. They needed to divert attention and build morale.

Ah....so you don't believe they landed on the moon...and staged a billion dollar boon~doggle to try to show they did...

But you also don't think they made a similar billion dollar boon~doggle to hide the known effects of all those nukes being dropped and poisoning millions...killing millions of people...

I don't think they landed either...but I know for a fact (there's that word again) they attempted to cover up crimes against humanity...

Oh, and it wasn't just the USA and Canada...France, China and the former USSR were the original "Nuclear Club" members...

I'm not really trying to annoy you Jason...it's just that Hollywood has had a bigger effect on us than most people realize...

Honestly. I am not sure they would have to have anywhere near that many in on it. All that really needed to know it a few office staff and the "moon landing" astronauts. I don't see the astronauts wanting to talk.

Wasn't it Capricorn One where they spoofed the moon landing?

I may be nuts, but wouldn't someone on earth with a powerful enough telescope have been able to take pics of them doing the moon-walk? And why didn't they?

They were on the sunny side of the moon so it was facing earth...we could easily have been able to capture that even on the cheap home telescopes...my brother has a telescope that is very powerful...he can see tomorrow if he looks hard and long enough...and places like the observatory in Maple and others should have had very powerful telescopes that could have easily captured the events on camera...why did that not happen? They could have made a fortune off the personal shots...

It didn't happen...

Personally if I was faking moon missions, I wouldn't think to fake a mission like Apollo 13 as well... it would look better in the history books to have everything worked perfect every time. Plus several other countries tracked the missions all the way to the moon and back.

I just watched a show on TV at noon for a little bit that had the astronouts talking about the mission on it.

NASA just released photos from one of their new toys taking pictures of the landers and even the footprints from past missions up there for the 40th anniversery. Since only 6% of the population I think it was faked that would be a lot of work for a couple non-believers.

They missed another key point...when we see the moon from the earth it looks anywhere between the size of a dime and the size of a basketball...and the moon is only one seventh the size of the earth...so from the moon the earth SHOULD look somewhere between a basketball to the size of a big umbrella (opened, of course)...but any pics I've seen has the same proportion as the moon we see...

I just don't believe it...but I'm from the old days...
