I have a dual spring rate / lift height puzzle for you...

This is starting to look like a much friendlier version of Pirate4x4 just for Rangers.

LOL.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people on Pirate4x4 refer people here. Shit, I've searched for something, followed a link to Pirate, and ended up being directed full circle back to TRS.

Some companies don't make stuff for older Rangers anymore, some of the stuff in the tech library is old and needs looked at again, and there's new things to consider. As much as I love my 2021 Ranger, I still love the old ones too, and I want to continue to encourage and help people give those trucks life as well.

I read every post but somehow I am not seeing what you want cut on a plasma table?
My brother-in-law has a plasma table (he turned an invention into a business and has been going crazy with the work, hired a machinist and still barely keeps up)... I bet he would consider doing something like this en mass if there was at least a tiny profit in it for him (he would of course have to cover the machinist's time, etc).

Its a weld it yourself kit for putting in d-35 or d-44 TTB beams into your ranger.

What kind of demand is there for this... "2 kits today, and 5 more maybe"... crank out 50 or a 100 and sell em wholesale to Jim who then would be the retailer?

The only two decent kits you can get for a 1983-1997 Ford Ranger is the James Duff and Skyjacker kit. I wouldn't be surprised if Skyjacker doesn't eventually drop their kit. Rough Country and BDS sells a kit, but they use a plate to drop the bracket above the differential for the passenger beam. I don't recommend those. We could end up in a position of no real options.

It would be great to be able to sell the pieces, but it would be an investment, they'd sell slow, and I'd have money tied up in them. We kind of got sidetracked here. I went from researching coil springs because I want to change mine, to creating a tech page, to remembering designing brackets and looking to see if I still had the drawings, to discussing the possibility of selling them. :c-n:

Yes. Dug it out a bit ago.

Ya, that's not the set I worked on with him. Joels an engineer. I like how he notched them to fit together as you weld them. Makes them easier to position and weld. The only thing I don't like is that one of those pieces needs to be bent in a press.

Damn, those pieces have to be 15-16 years old.

Press from Harbor Freight and press brake from SWAG and that becomes a simple task.

If you wanted to bring them by, I can slam them into CAD for cutting and make some assembly drawings. (Not wanting to take away from Joel, but 15 years later...)

Some of my other work; I'm still working on the license plate bracket and haven't decided if I want PEM nuts like the Ford bumper or weld in nuts to make it easier for DYI.
