Those that are planning on going or might be going, what are you wanting to get done to your trucks in the next 14 months?

Major surgery or just kick the tires and light the fire?

1. Win the lottery. Then...

2. Brand new diesel with transmission and transfer case from Atlas/advanced Adaptors.

3. New tires?

4. Fuzzy dice

5. Air freshener

6. Better cup holders

This message composed solely of recycled electrons. Go green!

1) Get it running
2) Swap in the new rear axle with a tight limited slip
3) Maybe a front Torsen if I get -really- zealous?

V-8 swap, new tires, gas money, baby sitter....

Choptop:
- head gaskets
- tires
- maybe swap the rear axle
- bumpers and finish the cage

Or build a trail toy if there’s time and money available

Sent from my kite using a trebuchet

Probably do skins and hood over the winter, maybe a new set of tires if I think I can get a decent price out of the current ones. Debating adding heated seats.

If I am to drive it out there:

5-speed/t-case swap
D35 swap
Younger tires

A/C would be nice too.
Probably should fix the one floor pan

Week after Labor Day Sirius will still be working for free. :yahoo:

If I haul it at least the D35 and I suppose I should probably track down a spare tire for it by then.

If I fly, I fly. If I take a week of vacation, the:

1) Find 36" tires that still fit a 15" wheel
2) front shocks
3) Rebuild front axle. Pretty sure the tube is bent and it's eating my wheel bearings.
4) Redo / mod panhard bar.
5) Get a trailer? for a 2400 mile round trip? lol

5-speed/t-case swap PRETTY MUCH DONE
D35 swap
Younger tires

I had thought about just getting a u-haul trailer and taking some of the stress out of it. No fussing over the trailer on top of everything else. Dump it somewhere out there and have another one waiting for the return trip.

That's viable. At $45 (tow dolly) or $57 (2-axle trailer) per day, that's still $450-$570 with fees and tax.

Do you have your parts for the D35?

In theory all I need is the steering bits. I have the outer TRE's but everything between I need to get yet.

The way it is going to it is going to be pretty long odds if my truck will be done by then.

Being that my 06 sits bone stock at the moment... I have a laundry list of things to do.

ARB add a leaf

Torsion crank and an alignment

4 KYB mono max shocks

Wheels and tires

Might do a 1 inch body lift... depends on how she sits

Front and rear affordable off road bumpers... custom swing out spare tire carrier

Auxiliary front and rear lighting

CB radio install

Auxiliary transmission cooler

Build out my camper top with auxiliary battery for camping and a roof rack for my canoe

I have a pile of parts and I'm itching to get started. But when I have time... it's just to cold. I don't handle the cold like I use to in my youth. So I'm ready for spring!

However I will probably stick to the bunny trails and find good vantage points to watch and let you hard core guys do the tough stuff.

I'm even willing to volunteer to do whatever needs to be done with set up... registration... organizing... whatever. Just let me know if you need help.

If I go I will just do the bunny trail type stuff. After driving 14+hrs it is hard to just park the truck and ride with someone.

Progress has been painfully slow however. Floorpan and torquebox still need fitted and welded in. Before that I need to finish the exhaust and see if the clutch works. Then I can do the D35 swap and fit a front driveshaft.

And I gotta drive the wheels off the thing to be comfortable enough the thing won't lay down and die on me somewhere between here and there.
