Can you see where it is leaking from? I did this once and it worked well for a long term, temp fix. I accually took the pan off, but it could stay on, but I cleaned it up really good, and spread a thin layer of JB weld over the rusted area. It fixed it right up and only cost me a pan gasket, oil change, and a pack of JB weld.
It's a bunch of pinholes all over the one side. Tried JB welding it once but no luck. It just rusted through in other places. I definitely need to replace.

Koda - need a tailgate handle?
Nah, I've just been keeping the panel off and pulling the two ends together when I want to take it down. Since I have alot of rust on my tailgate I'm just going to replace the whole thing. Only $30 at a junkyard, if I can't find my color I'll pick up a can of duplicolor and just spray it down.

Finally got to work on the shocks today. God they're rusty.

I'll post up pics for the difference in the old ones and the new ones when I get the chance. Right now I have to head over to my sisters to give her a shotty. She's being stalked by my nieces father, and she thinks he's going to kidnap my niece. Bastard wont pay his child support, and the judge wants to throw him in jail but he has one last chance. We think he's going to skip the country and live with his mothers family in Japan.

Old.

New.

I do say, that's quite an improvement. I was jumping up and down on the bumper and it was soft at first, but got harder by the time I got done. Guess I didn't pump them enough to begin with.

I'm considering hacksawing the spare tire carrier off. I lost the bolt that holds it closed and I had to cut the old tire out anyway.

Went to the yard today. I prettymuch have my choice of over ten 7.5 axles with 3.73 gears. I think I might wait and continue the search for 4.10's though, I don't have the money yet anyway.

I also checked out some Exploder interior goodies. There's a gray interior explorer there, leather seats, lighted visors, OHC, the works. I might get around to picking some of that up. I saw a ranger cab cargo cover there as well. Might look into that.

Holy shit I thought my junk was rusty. :shok:

Too bad you're not closer, I would hook you up with the 4.10 geared 7.5 that I just removed.

This is actually a pretty rust free truck for Upstate NY standards.

You should see the Nissans and Toyotas around here. :fie:

I got a question Koda, maybe I skipped it in your post, but was this truck standing for a very long time? Where did you get it from? 900 bucks is still a steal around this neck of the woods.

Well, apparently it was being driven back and forth to NYC once a week by the people I bought it from. First time I saw it for sale was about 4 months before I bought it. It was down a semi-back road that not a lot of people drive on. The good thing though, is that made them lower the price from their origional $1600. It was still being driven, plates inspected registered the works.

Took the bumper off today, it was easy as hell.

I kind of like the look of it off, makes me want a pre-runner style tube bumper. Too bad I can't afford one.

I'll be taking the bumper down to just pieces today, throwing out the old valance and pepping it to be cleaned. Still haven't gotten around to picking up paint though.

Yeah, if I'm going to bother with those I might go for a slight body lift as well. Doubtfull though, I'm tight on cash.

Lets say I don't replace them, what could happen?
