Updates.

Put the new boot on the short throw and pulled it out for some crappy pics

Finally finished the traction bar

I used 3/4" Rod Ends and used some modified sway bar link bushings for the shackle.

Headers are on..finally.

Only twisted one bolt off and had to cut the head off of two more, but with enough PB Blaster and the old flame wrench anything will come apart.

Snug fit

I had to make a new flange on the cat since they changed from 94 to 95. My old flange wasnt too pretty either

I added my bung for the wideband.

I put some brass nipples where the old IAT and vacuum tree were so I could reuse the vacuum lines from the 95.

I had to relocate the EGR solenoid to clear the engine harness plug on the OBDII motor. I also had to extend the plugs for the IAC, DEPF, and EGR Solenoid.

BBK TB is on. painted the letters on the TB just because I could.

The locker is finally in.

Trac-Lok can blow me

Open carrier

"Full" carrier.lol

The new y-pipe aimed the cat a little differently so it didnt quite line up with my notch in the crossmember. So I made it a little bigger. Its not centered because I had to remove the old notch and make it big enough to clear the pipe still. I reinforced it with a chunk of 1/2" bar and boxed it back in.

Ass shot.lol

New yellow fogs for the winter season. Even though we havnt had any snow yet.

I also order some new KC Black 6"x9" driving lights for the front bumper. My old KC knock offs finally rotted out and dont have the 23 year warranty that my other KC's have. Truck looks naked without the lights on the bumper

The man in the brown truck dropped off some goodies today.

New reflector/lenses for my outter roof lights to convert them to a wider driving pattern. The old spot light pattern was worthless for what I use them for.

I also got 130W bulbs to put in the new 6x9 lights when they show up. You can only buy the the lights in the 100W flavor, so I wanted to spice them up a bit.

I also finished making my fittings to convert my fuel filter to a easier spin on cartridge style. I like to change my filter after most wheeling trips incise I stirred up some crude off the bottom of the tank or pulled water in through the filler somehow.

I cut the quick disconnect fittings off an old stainless Motorcraft filter and used 5/16 compression to 3/8 male NPT adapters to screw into the housing. the new filter housing will just connect to the stock lines easy as pie.

Your truck is looking really good. How do you like the traction bar, would you change anything? Also like the gas filter idea.

Traction bar works just as is should. A longer shackle would be ideal, but I dont really have room. Axle wrap is gone, but now I have a little wheel hop on dry hard surfaces. I am pleased with the results. I hope to tackle the filter this weekend, but I also need to get my VW back on the road too.lol

Picked up a York for 20 bucks. I pulled the plug and it still has clean oil in it, but the car it came from had no refrigerant so I have no idea it works yet.

if it was still sealed up with all the hoses, then it should be OK. just because one leaks down when it has set for a very long time, doesn't really mean any thing, the front seal on the compressor need the oil and ref. splashed up on for it to make a good seal.

Its a R209R. That means Rotolok Seals (Which i still have the fittings w/ barbs) and 9 CI/rev

which means it should be around 5 CFM @ 1000rpm, 10 @ 2000rpm, 15 @ 3000 21 @ 4000, and 26 @ 5000

I am going to run it with a 1hp 12V motor and replace my oiless Lincoln compressors

Nice lookin' rig, love what you have done with it.

I may have to steal your idea for the gauges on the column, I really like it.

I have been having battery troubles with my Rabbit, so the truck has been used to jump start the old diesel a few times. I have been wanting to add a "high" idle to the truck for a while for things like warming up, jump starts, and sitting with the lights on.

I started piecing together some things to rig it up. I started with a linear actuator from McMaster -Carr. It is 12V and develops 2lbs of pull with a 1/2" travel.

I put it in little hobby project enclosure from Radio Shack, and used a cruise control cable from a late 90's Nissan something.lol

The cable was the perfect length to mount the box by the master cylinder, it mounts in a 1" hole in the box and has a two jam nuts for adjustment on the other end.

I used a ground lug with a set screw to attach the cable to the clevis and allow for more adjustment if needed.

I added a tab to the throttle cable bracket and another tab with a slotted hole on the TB
Once the cable is in the hole I crimped the slot closed to capture it.

I havnt finished running wires, but it should work nicely when its complete. I had to add a spring to assist the solenoid because it wasnt quite strong enough to overcome the friction of the cable once it was curved.
