84 u must be having blast in this truck.lol. been quite in ya thread. Any news on the rear?
Yes, been super busy with the holidays. I got a 8.8 rear end with u-bolts and plates from a 1992 ford ranger on black friday while I was visiting my mom. Can't wait to put a locker in it and next will be the leave springs to replace. I drove the Ranger 360 miles round trip and got 13-15 mpg so I'm happy with that being a carb motor

What kind of locker are u putting in? Are u planning on upgrading axles? Seems the 250 going price for an expo rear gets things done all in one shot. And that's some decent mpg right there! Good job and glad it's treating u well mang.

You'll love that 8.8 , what gear set is in it now . I have 3.73's and thinking about going to some 3.18's I have laying around . The truck wants to roast them low gear with the 73's lol

I just wanna go fast [emoji48]

3.73s kinda the only thing I'm thinking may not be good for my truck, with a 3 speed a lower ratio may help with longer trips. I think it's got stock 3.0s

84, ur c6 right? Still a 3 spd?

My stock drum 8.8 that came in my 94 ranger was 3.08's . I may not use the 3.18's , so if you want them let me know . Out of a 2011 mustang gt 5.0

The Exploder 8.8 rear end ain't a direct bolt-on without welding and mods. with this 92 ranger 8.8 it is a direct bolt-on and go. The 8.8 i got has 3.08 gears like my 7.5 I may keep them in and buy a locker because I like the gas mileage I gotten. The locker I have not decided yet I'm a deal hunter, lol .

Yes my truck has a Fmx cruise-o-matic 3 speed automatic. The motor and transmission from a 71 mustang

I have no clue what wheels I have, they was on the truck when I bought it for $740 I spent at least $3000 to get it the motor to race and take NOS. I have the NOS kit in my house just waiting to beef up the 8.8 and transmission. Yes I love the 1st gens too. Your truck is coming along awesome as well brother.

I was at the speed shop the other day asking about it. I'm planning on running a shot down the road as well. Who doesn't love bottles of go fast juice on a button! ?!?!
