Piece of pipe or tubing that's roughly the same ID and OD as the seal will work. Cut a short piece of it and use a chunk of wood against it to hammer on.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

That’s how I often install seals. Just need something that contacts the outer rim of the seal real well. You want to push the metal part of the seal. Not the rubber.

grease the inside to prevent tears, use anything that works to hammer it in, gently.

If you can find a piece of 3 1/2 inch pvc pipe,or perhaps a 3 inch pvc coupling,it will work. The od of the 3 1/2 pipe is 4.0 Inches. Not sure of the 3 inch coupling od.A plumbing supply may have the coupling,so take a tape measure or the seal with you.
