Hey guys. Been wondering for some time about getting rid of my b2 and getting a xcab ranger. Well found one I like its a 90 xcab 4x4 5speed manual t-case no power windows or locks either and a 4 liter of coarse(all stock). Just the way I want one my b2 is lifted(4 inch on 33's) and basically same thing with all the non-power options. I am just in a stuck state of mind. I want the power and torque from the 4 liter and I know they can be put in the b2's then I would have to do axel's tranny t-case and all that. Just in a stuck state of mind. Thoughts on what I should do

you don't "Neeeed" axles. i think.
but if you can sell your b2 and buy the truck, it's definitely an upgrade drive train wise...or find an early on craigslist as a donor and swap the drive train into your b2 if you want to keep it.

I ran the stock axles for almost a year with a V8. I think my rear had a bent shaft but that was from its 2.8 days (and not an out of balance wheel like I thought) Even then the D28 is still in it.

IMO it comes down to if you need a 2 seat truck or a 4 seat SUV.

I went the other way (from my '94 Ranger to a BII) and couldn't be happier (well, I still actually have the Ranger, but it's mostly my primary driver now).

I guess it depends on what you want out of it though. For me it was the shorter wheelbase and better maneuverability for tight trails. The Ranger however has more room to haul a bunch of camping gear (with the BII you have to be more space-efficient if you have a lot of stuff).

They both have their perks. I like the B2 for a commuter vehicle, but the Ranger has more cargo space and a more comfortable ride at high speed.

Well the b2 is not driven very much at all(think I've driven it twice in the last 2 months). I would sell the b2 and keep the lift but have nothing to put on the b2 in it place. I like the b2 but want more power etc etc

Do a 4.0L swap, have the power in a small Bronco II and love it. swaps are really not as hard as people make them out to be, just take some planing and time:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:
