Hello all,
I’ve been chasing a vacuum leak for ever even though nothing externally has changed the issue, the oil consumption fuel mileage and low vacuum I decided to replace the intake gaskets ordered the felpro and saw the note that you have to use a specific valve cover gasket. Looking into it they all don’t require it and some come with grommets. I never really messed with the 3.0 so it has me confused. What’s the deal? I’m old and easily confused so be patient with me.

I get the impression that's just Fel-Pro trying to sell you the whole set of "PermaDry" gaskets.

They are highly regarded.

The ultra power requires the same and offers another alternative. I need valve cover gaskets either way but why those 2 say it has to be that gasket and where others offer the grommets and they don’t just had me confused. I was thinking for flex fuel or something else but I couldn’t find anything. I just don’t want to get it apart and end up waiting for parts to reassemble.

The grommets just go into the bolt holes in the valve covers. You can probably reuse your existing ones if they are not rock hard.
