Why is nobody open to new things.

Oh I'm not converting, I'm letting everyone know there's a better way. If they aren't interested after the facts, that's fine.

You boys are the ones posting a head up ass picture. Real mature! I'd say your the only ones getting bent.

Actually you are trying to place yourself on a pedestal and trying to convert me by calling me a clueless windows user. Just because we don't want to buy your apples you tell me I'm a lesser person than you because you've got things "figured out". And then you have audacity to call us children because you didn't get your message taken in with open arms. I sure hope you aren't in sales for a living.

i sell for gm :thefinger:

and do very well for myself! :icon_thumby:

If you didnt need to spend extra on a mac when you can get a cheap pc, you wouldnt buy an fx4 level 2, when you can get a sport 4x4 that "will do everything the expensive one can"

I didn't nor would I if given the choice.

Much like my lowley PC laptop my ol' '85 does just fine. Not really for sure where I am at moneywise in the project, but I highly doubt I could get much of an FX4 Level II (even in their depreciated state) for what I have in it. Much like my $400 laptop that has been flawless for going on two years.

The cheapest Macbook I see on Best Buy's website is $899 and won't even play a DVD. It would take $1200 to do one of the most common things I do on my machine. Oh man, that is all the incentive I need to "upgrade"

too much time wasted doing that. i plug in an external, click backup and it does auto backups by date. so i can look up info when i had it. i can go back over 6 months.

im sorry, but windows is slowly being pushed out. your right, were only 15%, but three years ago we were 4%. humans like new, not updated old.

Windows pushed out? You are dilusional.
Most of Mac's increase is due to iPads.

Very rapidly people are discovering just how much you CANNOT do on an iPad
and that it is mostly an expensive tech-toy

As for Windows "Backups"? they don't always work.

a cloned hard drive that only must be swapped in to put your computer back inservice MUST work and if it doesn't something else died that probably is beyond practical repair.

Time wasted? My C2D Notebook has an eSATA jack (express card) and you'd be suprised how quickly I can clone my 500gb drive.

It takes a couple of minutes to get the clone running and I'm usually busy doing something else while it's running.

not that it matters I'm not babysitting it, I start it running then go off to do something else.

Car salesman? So if you like Fords but sell GM products, doesn't that make you the equivalent of a PC salesman? :D

Sort of, except PCs are superior to macs, just like Fords are superior to Chevies.

eww macintrash...

pc's are cheaper
pc's are easier to fix
pc's have more upgrade option as far as video cards/disc drives etc
pc's support more software
pc's are superior for general use

when i think mac's i think of snobby people who drive european cars, drink wine, goto art shows and carry a dog the size of a possum, or spolied teenage girls.. no offense guys, macs arn't worth the trouble for me, XP and 9x were some of microsofts best operating systems i ever used.

I have a mac and im a good old fassioned redneck

used to sell for Kia. i guess that would be linux? :icon_rofl:

they are both great systems. i just wish that windows based computers had the backing the apple give their products. customer service, and reliability kept me there, the performace of my friends caught my interest. plus the fact that it isnt made with the same stuff the toys r us verisons are made from. :icon_rofl:

allan d, i can hook up an iPod or iPad as an external HD, hook the unit up so the screen acts as a computer screen for whatever im doing on my macbook. Limitations only go as far as the user. pc is just easier to modify, mac didnt go that route for simple reasons like most people dont have the common sense to not mess with files, move stuff around and cause problems. no one ever said it wasnt able to be done.

macintrash...:icon_rofl: must be one of those kids who think making stupid names for things they dont like is funny. :icon_rofl:

i'll admit, i use windows, i dont hate it. i dont always like the way it runs, like when i open a program, its doesnt always close everything it opened when you exit, and after a while slows your computer. but it has some great sides like gaming and versatility. if you build a computer, its for you!

if you buy off the shelf pc's from any store, i would never sugest windows. bestbuy is one of the worst places. geek squad is a joke, and repair takes about 2 months. where as with my mac i got a new battery in my macbook when i flatlined it in about 15 minutes.

ill always stick with the company with the best service, because i enjoy simple systems that do whatever i want them to do! my house is pure modern furniture, my truck is kept clean, tidy and in top shape. so i want my computer to be the same.

yes people on here can play with settings and makes theirs run fast, but we make up 0.000000001% of the sales windows computers have.

ill always have to use windows, but i wont like it :icon_thumby:

Don't you have to pay a fee for Apple Care?

no sir. its free, and you can extend it all the way up to the day before it expires. i chose not to. that was 3 years ago. no problems so far

Extending it is free?

EDIT: I just went and looked. Let me just say this: "OUCH". They want 350 dollars to extend your coverage 2 years on a Macbook, and at that point you've got yourself an 3 year old outdated Macbook. Not a wise investment IMHO.

I never get extended warranties. I always tell them I won't buy another product from the manufacturer if it fails prematurely.
