Saw this on another forum an decided to bring it over here, since it's been almost 7 years since the events of 9/11 shook the world to the core. I remember it like yesterday...

So where were you??

Where was I? I was at work when it all started... pouring concrete. I left the job around 9:30 to go to my college class and immediately upon firing up the truck, I fed a CD into the player and remained blissfully ignorant of what was going on. Got to campus, locked the truck, and on the walk in to class noted the tension and hushed tones but still didn't know what was going on. It was only after I got in the classroom that I started to learn what was going on.

The teacher came in, said that her mom was in that area of New York and that she was unable to reach her so class was cancelled because she didn't think she could handle teaching the class an told us that we could go out in the foyer and watch on the tv there. I decided there was too much of a crowd and drifted outside for a bit to await my next class. When I decided to head back in to see if there was any new news, I saw a flood of students and teachers rushing towards the doors. As someone ran past they screamed that another plane was headed this way, and everything was cancelled.

So I called the boss to see what he was doing and was appalled when he said that he was working. I tried explaining what I knew of what happened and he kinda blew it off and said that I might as well get back to work. When I made it back to the jobsite he apologized, he didn't really believe all of what I had told him until the carpenters working on the job turned on a radio (which was after my call an before I made it to the job).

i was sleeping off the night before, day off so i could sleep all day, dad comes in wakes me up says to turn on the news quick, i turn on to abc and didnt stop watching tv for almost 24 hours, i turned the tv on just as the second plane hit, i couldnt belive what i was seeing, i thought it was a clip for a movie or something, i never thought that something like this could happen to our country. i was in total shock over the whole thing. didnt know any buddy there at the time but i felt for everybody that had family and friends lost.

I was sick as a dog sitting in my chair watching tv. News alert came on said a plane crashed in to the trade center. watched the news about it thinking it was a accident then the other tower got hit. then my electric went out. I turned on my inverters and turned the tv back on when I found out the the other planes had crashed then all the fire whistles and my scanner started tones. I only live a little ways from the PA crash site.
Tried calling and the cell phones were not working because of the massive amount of calls.
Not a day I will forget any time soon. Been to the crash site several times.

I was in seventh grade English class. A teacher came in and said a plane hit the buildings. We turned on the tv for about two hours then had to turn it off.

I was in 9th grade, walked into my 3rd period math class and the teacher had on the TV. Everyone was shocked, I too can remember everything like it was yesterday. I watched TV for hours on end that day. Still sends chills down my spine.

a stressful day, lived on Andrews AFB at time and in high school, while mom worked in D.C. in the Army

the base was locked down, and they gathered all military students from elem, middle school, and my high school into our caffateria until confirmation that the base would allow us on and all phone lines where down.

I was in American Lit my Junior year when the assist. principle came in and told us. We spent the rest of the period talking about it and watching CNN.

I drove to the local college for CAD class after that and heard about part of the Pentagon collapsing in my truck. We didn't have TV's or internet access in our room at the college so we listened to it on the radio as we drafted.

I remember this day distinctly, 8th grade. I took an early morning class at the high school then went over to the middle school for normal classes. Didn't hear much then walked into American History, 1st period, and my teacher had the TV on already. The tvs were on in every classroom all day long and nobody really did much of anything except discuss what was happening. We turned it on after the first plane hit and watched the second plane hit. Then the videos came in about the Pentagon and the Pennsylvania crash. Seemed like the news of crashes just wouldn't stop. Scary day. I actually started feeling sick to my stomach for a while.

I was in my 10th grade English class. We went to the gym where everyone assembled and we watched the news on a bunch of TVs.

I had jus gotten out of bed to start work at 9:00 saw the second plane hit live on good morning america . went to work where i was doin auto alignments at the time and watched tv pretty much all day

i was in the 4th grade and i was one of like 3 kids who didnt get picked up.
alotta of the kids that live near me have parents who work in or around the pentagon
so sitters and relatives picked them up and i was jealous cuz i didnt get to leave early
then i got home and watched the news with the dad and then took a big poop i swear.
thats all i remember then that friday at school or next frieday we all wore red white and blue

I was out wiring up my garage. I was listening to the radio when they said what had happened. I went in to watch the news and saw the second plane hit. I'll never forget that day.

I was working with tech support that morning until somebody came to relieve me. Then I drove to downtown Cleveland. It was a mad house with everybody trying to get out of town. I remember vividly a pickup truck had broken down at one of the intersections. I was right next to it thinking I hope this isn't a bomb. I parked on the street went into the bank where is was working and hungout in the phone room until traffic died down.

Was woken up by my sister, saw what was going on and watched as the 2nd plane hit. Spent the rest of the day at my girls house watching news, was a very odd feeling that entire day.

I guess I don't remember. :D
