Where were you?? (when the world stopped turning)

I was in seventh grade. I remember waking up and going straight to the tv as always. Had intended to watch the local fishing show. Turned it on just in time to see the first plane hit the tower. Like most everyone else I thought it was an accident. I remember thinking that something had to be wrong because I was fairly certain that there would be some kind of no fly zone in that area. As soon as I saw the second one hit my stomach turned. I went to school and everyone was freaking out. I had to tell a few of my friends what had happened. I don't remember any of the classes actually getting any work done. We had to watch a news program that was taped the night before. The big news on that was Michael Jordan coming out of retirement. I clearly remember sitting in my mothers home office with my parents theorizing on who might have done it. I can't believe it's been seven years. I remember it quite clearly.

I was around like a Soph or Junior in HS at the time. The weird thing I remember about it was we knew it had happended by the time we got to school, and I remember talking about it for a couple of min at the beginning of class. But I dont remember watching TV or anything to that extent. It was definatly weird. I think my mom had woke me up that morning to tell me. She did the same thing when Princess Di died in her car accident.

I remember being in my 4th grade social studies class and the principle came in and told us something terrible had happened. I thought maybe a big car accident had happened outside the school or something like that. They turned on the TV and I thought I saw what looked like a wall with a big hole in it on fire. Being a 4th grader, I didn't know what the World Trade Centers were. After that, we switched classes and I just remember seeing the second tower falling and how there was dust everwhere with people running around with dust masks on....

After school my mom picked me up and went to my brother's high school to pick him up. We found out there was a bomb threat during school and they made everyone evacuate. I layed down on a bench looking up at the beautiful blue skies on that Spetember day and seeing fighter jets flying around. I remember that like it was yesterday...

I was 4, not even 4 when it started.


I found out about it when I got to work. 2 co workers signed up for the Marine Corp that day.

i was in school at the time, the teachers were very uneasy but refused to tell us anything and wouldent let us listen to the radio... parents left early to pick me up, didnt understand what was going on till i got home and they told me... after i turned on the tv....

still angry that none of the teachers at the time would be honist with my class about what happend and how they hid it from us like it was some sort game or something.

gym class the whole class boys and girls had all come into the boys locker room and we all crowded into the office in there watching everything on a 10'' tv screen. i rember a lot of the teachers were refusing to belive what it really was they were just adament it was an accidnt.
