Where were you?? (when the world stopped turning)

i was in my 4th grade science class.mrs.berndt we came back from recess and she was sitting there crying and we were wondering wat was going on and then she told us and turned on the news we did nothing the rest of the day except watch the news. i can remember seeing the plane hitting the first tower and watching it fall

I first knew what happened in 3rd period study hall my sophomore year of high school and the TV was on. When they said a plane hit a building I didn't think much of it, though it might just be a small plane that went down or something. Then the 2nd one hit and then I realized it was serious. Watched them fall on the TV in 5th period English.

They cancelled all after school activities. I remember the football game that following friday, we were playing our rival away. They had a special ceremony before the game.

I was riding to school in my moms car, I got to school and they told me it was closed because something happened in New York City. We came back home and my brother was watching the news. Fourth grade.

well i dont quite remember that day like yesterday (i wish i did and im jealous of people who do) but i was in 5th grade and i remember not quite understanding why somebody would want to run a plane into a building and not knowing why the world trade centers were so important. but i now understand that it was the government making a ton of money, yes i am a strong believer in the conspiracy theories. its too bad many people had to lose their lifes and hurt their families over it.

I was just getting around for a day in my first semester at college. I had a mid morning class (Calc I) and I flipped on the TV while I was brushing my teeth. I didn't go to class that day.

for what its worth i was in grade 5 up here in british columbia we watched news all day, while i do not know anyone involved my sympathies are with those who do and had lost loved ones

I was in Canadian Tire getting a price on an EGR pipe...I just stood watching as the second plane crashed into the tower...

Two things went through my head...one after the other... WTF? was the first one....and "We are at war" just after I swore "those bastards will pay"

I was 13 when the planes hit. I woke up to go to school and decided against it because I was feeling ill (flu). I turned on the tv and saw the replay of the first plane hitting. I woke up my mom and told her that a plane hit a building on the news, some twin tower building? ( I didnt know wtf it was). She jumped out of bed and turned on the tv, and we spent the rest of the day watching the news.

I was in the Navy at the time stationed in DC. I was in between mid-watches and had finished morning PT. I got home and started playing with my daughter for a little bit. My mother-in-law tells me that a plane had hit one of the towers. I looked at the screen all tired out of my mind and remember saying that they will be able to put it out.

So I go to bed. A little while later, I get a call from my Chief and she tells me to not come in that night. I think all of the bases in the DC area were secured. No entry/exit.

When I finally returned to work, every single vehicle was being inspected. All the bases were doing that. It made for some interesting times. Especially living close to BWI Airport.

i was coming out of my P.E. class going to reading in 6th grade, cant believe its been 7 years, wow...

I was mopping a floor at the back of the showwrom at the place I was working at when I heard that a plane had hit one of the towers. It was at that point that I realized that a friend and supplier to our business was in the North tower of the WTC that morning for a meeting. When that second plane hit it was like a kick in the gut. I wasn't sure which tower was which but I knew at that point that I had lost a good friend. The real scare factor kicked in when the third plane hit the Pentagon. I remember looking out the front window of the showroom and being amazed (and dazed) that a very busy road didn't have a car on it. Extremely creepy. When I got home, I watched the tv until about 4 AM the next morning. I think I just worked in a daze for about the next 3 days and finally crashed on the Friday night around 6:30. A very dark time indeed.

I also remember one thought I had the world is no longer an innocent place.

i woke up, went upstairs to go to the bathroom, glanced at the t.v. as the second plane hit. i said.."what movie is this? they should be careful or some dumbass might get the idea to try that!" my roomates wife said "this aint no movie, 2 planes just hit the towers." i said "shitty--i gotta pee" came out of the bathroom and said "wait--this is really happening??" watched t.v. until i went to work and my boss was yelling updates all night to us on the floor

Sitting in my truck waiting to walk in to work. The radio said a plane had just flown into the first tower accidentally. I said to my buddy " you don't accidentally fly into the World Trade Center" We were working in downtown Los Angeles at the time about 1/4 mile from the Staples Center. I looked in the rearview mirror at the skyscrapers of L.A. a few blocks away wondering if we were going to get hit as well.
