I got all of the fuel tank components from a 90 Bronco II including an additional frame mounted factory fuel pump. Whats its purpose when there's one already in the fuel tank?

The gas tank's fuel pump is low pressure. The fuel pump mounted to the frame rail is high pressure.

It is Ford's idea of a conversion from a carb'd engine to fuel injection. You only need around 2-8 psi to get the fuel from the tank to the engine with a carb'd engine. But with fuel injection, you need around 40 PSI for the injectors to spray a mist of fuel into the engine.

a 1990 or even a 1989 Bronco2 will not have a frame mounted fuel pump, the last year for a frame monted pump is 1988.

Ford switched to a high pressure in-tank pump for the 1989 model year.

interesting as the under hood emissions info & the ID tag on the Door area all stated that it was a 1990 & the guy even had the title to prove it as he was complete disassembling the vehicle to haul away for scrap & was keeping the 4wd running gear

so maybe it wasn't a real 1990, will I be able to get a pump for a 89 or 90 & will it fit it into the same hole as the low pressure pump that's in the tank

will the 89 + fuel pump mount into the 19?? 23 gal Bronco II to eliminate the use of 2 pumps? Or I ques I could use that extra pump for emergency fuel transfer to other vehicles, some cop cars are hooked up that way.
