whats the deal with Aluminum conrod bearings?? Vrs tri metal?

hi, yes thanks for the suggestions... however my point is/was ... if you take out STD sized bearings and reorder STD sized bearings... shouldn't they be the same size out of the box?? I did not turn the crank, so it stands to reason that they should not be .010 smaller out of the box....

this post was more for a heads up to others as to what I am experiencing ..... Try calling around to parts stores in your town and see what they stock/can get for you.... It is getting very hard to build older equipment ....

cheers

ok ... after a whole lot of tearing my hair out on this .... I found out that these bearings I have out of the engine are actually .010 .... and not STD .....

I will eat my crow with mustard please .......

there are no real markings on these bearings... i took them to a parts store this morning to get them to look at them .... they seen where I would figure them to be STD as they did not show a defined .010 stamp or etching in them. How confusing ... 100% complicated for sure

so to round this crazy story up .... will ignore all markings from now on and second check the journals then the bearings for marks .... what a F@#$#@ pain in the ass this has become ....

but also, they said same thing .... internal parts are less and less stocked in parts stores.

whats it like where you are?

cheers
