I picked up a set of almost new Cooper 215/70-R14's plus matching wheels and center caps for my 87 Ranger for $140....The wheels and center caps need to be cleaned up, but for $140 I can do a bit of cleaning...now I have 6 of that style of wheel so a couple of spare wheels.

Funny you posted this...

Asin SC14 Supercharger, just about as rare as it gets for a factory one

4.5 hrs of wrenching and cutting to get the bastard, would not recommend.

Last week I found an original Sega genesis in the back of a skylark...

Nada. But I really wanted a non-A/C heater blower housing bad.

my ‘92 had that style and were badly salt damaged. I sandblasted the peeling clearcoat off and put rattle-can rustoleum clearcoat on. Looked alot better. Id love to find that stlye in a 15”. Not much tire selection with 14’s anymore. I did find a set of alloy slots the other day-unilug pattern. Was tempting , but 14’s and Ive got too many wheels as it is.

Luckily these are just dirty and can be washed off...not as much of a salt issue here in Idaho. The center caps I'll have to take off and clean up and probably repaint as whatever the coating is they have is peeling off of them.

It's been a while but my last junkyard scores were -

- a disc brake 8.8 with 4.10 L/S that had 7500 miles on it for $200
- manual shift 1354 t-case with shifter, boot, floor plate for $150
- Super Duty factory optional trailer brake controller for $5
- Milwaukee chalk line for a buck

I need to stop by the junkyard some time soon... it's fun to just walk through and see what they have, usually I walk away with something I did not know I needed.

Scored a Dana s135 today.... good lord was that a heavy beast. Going in my brother in laws swamp truck if I can figure out how to get it there with my ranger. Gonna need a trailer but not sure I wanna drive 900 miles with a trailer on my ranger.

No electric brake hookup so need a trailer with surge brakes, and I think it's only rated to tow 2,500 pounds.

Last week I got wheels & tires, this week I found a receiver hitch for the Ranger. Pulled it off a 91 Ranger. Needs to be cleaned up and repainted, but that won't be too bad, I think I'll clean it up and undercoat it like I did the one I got for my Bronco 2...maybe I should see if I can get some comparison pictures for size differences (width) as the frame on a Ranger is narrower than the Bronco 2, by about 6 inches by a quick guess given the width difference between the 2 hitches....Yes, its a class 2 receiver hitch, but the Ranger can't tow more than 2,000lbs anyways.

$30 for the hitch....$800 in repairs to my Jeep Grand Cherokee UGG. The serpentine belt in the Jeep decided to shred itself on the way back home from the pick a part yard this morning leaving me stuck along the highway for almost 3 hours, 12 miles from home waiting on a wrecker. Belt, water pump, radiator, and hoses ugg....So that hitch cost me a lot of money.

The $50 Walmart clearance one I put on my Ranger sounds better after that story, sounds like something that would happen to me :). I had a belt shred on my '90 a few years ago, conveniently it was 3 miles away and I caught it before it was completely gone, still had 2 ribs left so I cut the excess off and drove home...

HAHA, well worse story this morning from the shop, not only did it destroy the belt due to a $20 idler pulley freezing up, it damaged the tensioner pulley, put a hole in the radiator, and blew the head gasket....$1800 in repairs. For a $30 receiver hitch LOL.

What a deal!

You should have proactively picked up those other parts while you were at the junk yard.

Haha, I said that as well yesterday while waiting for the wrecker. Although with a blown head gasket it wouldn't have made it too far even if I replaced the belt and idler pulley on the side of a 2 lane highway.

I got a few odds and ends but nothing earth shattering
