What was your Pick A Part Find Today?

I have no idea, didn't go searching very far, I don't look too much into engine stuff as most of the time its all trashed thanks to people who don't care about anyone else that may need parts.
I just joined the forum today and already making friends. I am certain I will find great advice . I already have some uncertaint leads but checking everyday.

interesting thought... would you need to upgrade the battery/ alternator/ power distribution box to handle that extra load?

AJ
No idea. Built my own to handle dual alternators should the need arise, so mines at least stout enough.

Could just take the power distribution stuff out of a prius.

....or its alternator 🤤🤤🤤

People here where I live are very destructive it seems on vehicles in pick a part yards, its pretty aggravating. I get lucky on rare occasions and get some good stuff, but typically they like to trash engine and interior related items for some reason, leaving most of the stuff people actually go into the yards for useless. I've seen a few and reported them to the office, not sure if they ever do anything to them or catch them but it would sure be nice.

Most of the people at the yards in eastern PA only carry 2 tools, a sawzall and a hammer. They will literally destroy half the car to take a couple small parts. The yards don't really care because their main business is scrap metal, the parts sold are just gravy before the cars are shredded. Really pisses you off when you find the perfect vehicle or part you've been trying to find for years only to see someone before you absolutely annihilated it taking a freaking blinker bulb out with dynamite and a sledge hammer...

All. The. Time.

I'm guilty of that with GM products, though.

I can get an M90 off a 3.8 in 14 minutes. You can imagine what it looks like when I'm done.

Doesn't appear to be an issue here in Maine. But then again I dont do the pulla part thing. As a rule they dont hang onto vehicles like a 94 Ranger.

Oldest stuff im seeing is ‘98, for the most part people seem to just get what they need without destroying other stuff. Hard to find taillights though. Not a big fan of going anymore unless its winter. all the bees, wasps, potential of snakes. might be better if it was like some ‘yards ive seen with graded gravel lots, vehicles up on stacked rims. Here its like any random farm field with weeds, muddy when its wet and the cars right on the ground. rarely see low milage stuff, and by “low milage “ I mean 100K or less. 200K is the norm and Ive seen rusty frames on rangers that made mine look good, I feel better about my patch job after some of the junk Ive been seeing.

What is up with the head liners in these trucks. I have had 3 Ranger/Mazda all with the same issue. Look like some took a razor blade to them..

Sorry. You're new. We're just joking around.

The OEM headliner material doesn't last forever. Actually, it seems to do better than many other vehicles I've seen over the years. It's common to have to replace it after 20 years or so.
