What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Installed skid plates.

Can you send a picture? Do you think those skid plates would work inside a pair of fruit of the looms? Cover up the skid marks?

Asking for a friend

Not that kind of skid. Pictures will be in my build thread shortly...

Added #3 to the hoard. I thought it needed a new cab, but just needs about 6 inches of the driver side top to bottom.

I installed some saddle blanket style seat covers in both trucks. I got tired of trying to keep the black seat material clean. It started raining just as I was finishing up. So pictures will have to be on another day and will go in their respective build threads. The only thing I think I'm going to remove is the cover for the center console/arm rest in the 2011. I envelops the whole thing with no method of being able to open the lid other than by taking the cover off. It fits well, it just defeats the purpose of having storage in the armrest.

Got my garage rewire done today, so now I have a welder that works. This allowed me to start fixing all of the rust holes in my replacement cab. I got the bottom of the driver side A pillar repaired and put the floor pan in that side. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the remainder of the floor repaired and start attacking my rocker panel modifications. I'm happy with the progress I made in a few hours this afternoon.

Built two tools for it in two days. Both pretty simple but worked.

Yesterday, an LED light to test the PIP sensor. It blinked on and off, so I thinking the magnetic pickup in the distributor isn't the cause of my no-spark condition. Today, worked on trying to get the wiper motor out. My Chilton manual says remove the pivot nuts and drop the wiper towers down into the cowl. Many posts on this site about how difficult it is to get the clips on or off the wiper linkage on old Rangers like mine, so I made a wrench using a piece of 1 1/2" square tubing.

I saved a picture of your flooring. It will help me know where to cut when I install the vinyl flooring in my 2011 since I'm not sure the pattern for carpet is the same.

When I get home tomorrow I'll lay it out on my trailer and take a good picture of it for you.

It's currently hanging over the tailgate ramp drip drying. I hosed out the cab a few weeks ago and the insulation soaked up more water than I thought.
(I may or may not have left the rear sliding window open more than a few times too...)

I guess the good news is that I could tell it wasn't "chronically wet"

Thanks. I'm looking forward to having a vinyl floor. I'm not looking forward the the installation. Everything I'm seeing, it's a S.O.B. of a job but I won't have to worry about staining or salt getting encrusted in the light grey carpet anymore.

Part of me thinks I might regret yanking it out in a fit of frustration yesterday... Thinking getting it back in will be a PITA.

Maybe if you feed it in under the dash first?

For a virgin floor that has no holes yet, you need to locate the flooring over the seat hump and transmission tunnel as best you can, punch some holes for the seat bolts to locate and hold the thing in place as you work aft. Once the back is done, the fun of cutting a hole for the shifter and force feeding the lot under the dash gets done. I'm sure it's going to be a multi day job and there will be a lot of cuss words flying.

Maybe you could consider WeatherTech floor liners? Mine fit and work great. Don't really understand why a pickup would have carpet, at least for the front seats, anyway. I do still have the original carpeted floor mats, but they're stored in one of my sheds.
