Welded dana 35

then you would have full time posi-trac...... just like if you ran a mini-spool.

It would wear your rear tires at a slightly accelerated rate (nothing crazy) spin both tires evenly, give you more traction, but a higher chance of fishtailing and spinning out in adverse conditions.

I'd say go for it RSH, I'm going to weld up my stock 7.5 over the weekend. I thought about getting a mini, but what's the point, I'm going to upgrade diffs anyways. and 7.5's are a dime a dozen so not much resale value.

Frank

the fishtailing is what worries me the most, but with 30"s and 3.73 u can bet it doesnt spin that much.
i do drive a lot in pavement and city.
tell u what
ill wait to see if u weld yours and tell me how it goes. i dont wanna be breaking axles either lol, and i plan to upgrade mine some day...

mine is welded and its a DD...gets annoying in parking lot as it chirps and jumps a little but its not terrible just have to get used to it...

driving down the road or on the highway you cant tell its done, just when taking slow corners

Once you get used to running posi (I've had it in my drag car, a dually, and an old F-250)

You won't think anything about correcting out of a spin.... it becomes second nature, and makes you a better driver (ok, forces you to be a better driver)

:icon_confused: i might consider it...
thanks for the input!

enough for the jacking

to get back on subject....i was going to weld my front 35, but decide that i was going to try and find a limited slip carrier from a cherokee with a dana 35 rear axle and swap it in..

it may end up happening or i may just weld it, my truck never see's 4 wheel drive unless im on some good trails or in some slick stuff

wait so if i find a jeep with a dana 35 l/s in it i can pull it out and put my ring gear on it and put it in my dana 35??? if thats the case im going 2 the jy tommorow theres jeeps out the ass

thats what ive heard...but you better double check with someone that has more knowledge in the area, im far from an expert.

but what i do know is some jeep dana 35 lockers will fit in a ford dana 35....

Ok, I'm going to:threadjacked:a little...first, a Jeep D35 carrier will fit in a Ranger D35, the R&P however, will only fit 98+ rangers, as jeeps are low pinion, 93-97 ranger D35s are high pinion, and 98+ are low pinion...
Jon, I think we need to start a welded diff club:icon_rofl:
SVT

The ring and pinion is separate from the L/S carrier, you can take an L/S carrier from a jeep and put it into a ranger D35...

'90-'97 D35 TTBs.

Ok let me get this 100% correct lol. so i can take a L/s out of a jeep dana 35. and put my ring gear on it in put in in my Dana 35 on my 94 ranger. am i correct
