I have an opportunity to buy a head, turbo mustang, sporting an A237 Ford Motorsport cam, stock valve size.

I would like to move this earlier standard intake spacing head to my 1990 ranger and shitcan the 8 plug. This is to be part of my carburetor and distributor de-evolution of the engine. My 1990 Frankentruck is running poorly all due to a global breaking down of the efi systems which I had already brought back from dead once 5 years ago(nearly to absolute perfection).

Thanks in advance for the wisdom on acceptable lift. The springs are dual on this head, it is a well built racing head. If the cam is too much, I’ll likely just swap the cam to the stock truck cam. It’s the head that is important not the cam. It is in exceptional build condition, fresh seals, valve job, it is ported. It fixes my distributor clearance issues in one swift move. Then I can pursue available aftermarket manifolds, etc.

I don't know of a reason why it wouldn't work, the only thing you might run into is it might become an interference engine but that should be easy enough to test...

Alright one last question:

Someone confirm I have read this websites archives correct.
All 2.3l Lima heads use the same exhaust flange spacing and pattern?

the difference is ONLY in intake pattern?

Hoping my existing tube exhaust from 1990 fits the d port head Id like to buy.

Yes, the exhaust side never changed, only the intake side.
