Hello, I have a 1983 Ford Ranger which i'm putting a 351 windsor (w/ AOD) in it and I need to know how to connect up the vacuum hoses. If anyone has a diagram that would be fantastic. I believe the engine is from the 70's, but not 100% sure. I have a holley 4bbl on it as well. Also, if anyone has a similar situation i need the electrical diagram for the engine cause my wiring is a little bit of a mess. Thank you

For electric google: autozone 1983 ranger electric wiring

They have diagrams

Vacuum lines needed depends on what you are running.
Above the carb base plate on the carb are "Ported" vacuums, the base plate and intake are regular vacuums.
Regular vacuum is high at idle but low at higher RPMs and is used for power brakes, EGR, and PCV valve.

"Ported" vacuum is low at idle and gets higher as RPMs increase, this is often used for vacuum advance on distributors.

1 wire alternator would be nice, dumping the external voltage regulator and wiring for it.
What distributor did you have in mind?
HEI is nice but not cheap, $100-$150
If you use an external coil you will need to use a ballast resistor with it.

I'm using an hei dizzy and only spent $50 on it (look up skipwhite on ebay it Google it). I like the one wire hook up.
