Hi, my name is Artem, in 02. 2025 I was bought Ford Ranger. Roll out from plant in 1989 and in 1996 was imported in little country of Europe - Latvia. After long time I get it to my hands. Moving by 2.9 engine with conventional petrol and LPG, paired to automatic tranny with RWD. It was many troubles, but drive.

A petrol engine in Europe. Finding parts is probably going to be difficult. It is a European engine, so there is a chance.

Welcome to the forum. We'll help where we can, but the website is mostly North American based. So, help may be limited.

How i understood, 2.9 engine not so similar with Scorpio 2.9 engine. Intake manifold different, sensors connectors different and probably other parameters too. Al parts I buy on Rockauto, considering location, delivery cost can be astronomical

The 2.9 used in Ford vehicles is part of the Cologne family of engines. I believe Cosworth used them well. Unfortunately, the guy who could give you the most history and information doesn't log on to the forum anymore.

conventional petrol is gasoline? not diesel fuel?

you can find additional information on this website:

they have a forum for international users.
please show us more pictures of your Ranger.
