Hi,
* 1999 Mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger), 3.0 V6.
* We're the tenth owner, 220k miles! Bought for $2k this summer.
* It came with a broken ignition cylinder (theft attempt), two keys that worked (in the broken cylinder), no key fob, and a drivers door that does not lock/unlock via the key.
* We worked around that for about 5 months, but just had some work done, and a battery that completely discharged. Popped in the new batter and voila - it won't start.
* Doesn't crank, THEFT light flashes fast. Tried a number of things the mechanic suggested but we seem stuck.
Any advice to get it out of "I'm being stolen!" mode? Again, the drivers door lock problem and lack of key fob really are screwing us right now.
Thanks in advance. I love this truck, but HATE the PATS system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 24 hours from having it towed to the mechanic and throwing money at it.
