Twister 85 B2 Build

I have been digging on this, I found:

http://www.cjponyparts.com/performa...ssion-separator-plate-260-289-302-351/p/TSP3/

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Comet-Fairl...Parts_Accessories&hash=item564fddd517&vxp=mtr

http://www.racepages.com/parts/bellhousing_block_plate/ford.html

Those would fit the 164t bellhousing/starter... the only possible getcha is if they monkeyed around with the thickness. I haven't found anything about that, maybe the last link that brags about their customer service would be able to help.

Hate to say it, you should have grabbed the one from wherever you nabbed the starter. They are not an easy or cheap to find...

Man those are expensive, I know I should have grabbed it but it being 100*, my third trip and a cut hand, I had had enough with the junkyard that day.

Well the old 2.8 comes out tomorrow.

If it helps one off a 300 6 cylinder will work too. My bellhousing and spacer are off a 300 and my trans is from a 302. Just remember that spacer can be important when running a manual trans since it does effect how close the throw out bearing is to the clutch fingers.

And why so much taken of the old 2.8? I left as much as i could on mine.

It is so bare from me trying to find out why it stopped running. I didn't take it all apart to take the engine out. Its been like that for about 6 months.

Yeah the 300 I6, 302 and 5.8 all share the same bellhousing, there just isn't many 5 speeds in the junkyard. I am going to try and go to the junkyard this weekend and hopefully find one. I also might have a line on one from a guy on Craig's. How can I tell just by looking at one if it will work?

I didn't think that it mattered what manual trans it came from all long as it is made for the tooth count.

Let me know if you bump into a V6 4x4 M5OD in your travels. :icon_thumby:

Usually the pickings are fairly slim for the SBF 4 speeds.

Not for me, they are everywhere at my local yard. Allot if 60s, 70s and 80s trucks...even a duce and half sitting there.

We can swap yards then, about 99% of the trucks in the yards near me are autos.

What have i gotten myself into :D. I dont know if it was the power steering or the engine oil, but there is a lot of sludge on the driver side.

Good ol' 2.8... if there is no oil under 'em there is no oil in 'em. :icon_thumby:

That's British engines, not German ones.

My oil leaked from the fuel pump due to the steel and aluminum construction of it.

Well I found 2 5 speeds in the junkyard. I got one tore all the way down to the flywheel but forgot my half inch ratchet at home. I am going back tomorrow, hopefully I can get it off.

Well went back to the junk yard and picked up the plate. Was only $7( $11 if you include the price for me to get in both days). Much much cheaper than buying one online. It is a little rippled and one of the bolt holes on the bottom is broke, but I think it should work out OK.

Good deal, what is left to go before it goes in?
