@button_pusher About the resistors. I used 1W
The resistors I installed in the shift solenoids looked fine. This may have been because they did not have a constant load on them, I can't be use.
The Resistor I installed in the TCC was burned up, but still working.
Let us know how the dakota digital worked out.
I ended up purchasing HP Tuners dongle and using it to modify the ECU program to work nice with the Manual. I was able to change the number of pulses per revolution for the OSS tone ring in the software to get the spedo to work.
Then I disabled the the DTCs related to the Automatic transmission.
Changed the rev limiter settings to 6250 for both neutral and drive, and a couple other things related to the auto.
Works well. I've been running it without the DTRS or any resistors plugged in.
- Clutch switch is wired to the neutral for the DTRS, and the wires for the cruise control.
- Reverse is wired to the switch on the trans
- OSS is wired in
That's all the wiring.
One note about the HP Tuners mod. You can't simply disable the Automatic transmission in the software. The software programs for the the manual and auto ECU have different software versions. The ECU for the manual doesn't have the info for the Auto and the AUTO ECU doesn't have the info for the Manual. If you disable the Automatic transmission, the truck will still run, but it will lose the function of the speedometer.
